You and Me (A Rosa Diaz Love Story)

Chapter 1

"Guys I have a big announcement to make!" Jake yells as soon as he walks into the precinct.  

"Are you finally organizing your desk?" Amy asks, looking over at the disaster on Jake's desk. "I have some extra binders you can use for your papers with colour-coded tabs! And I can even help you! I can't stand to have all of this...clutter near me."

"What? My desk is already neat the way it is, but good guess Santiago. Anyone else?"

"Did you meet someone famous?" Gina asks. "Like a Chris? I bet it was a Chris."

"I wish!" Jake says. "Pratt, or Evans, or Hemsworth! Damn! But nope. Who else is guessing?"

"Did you get us matching best friend necklaces?" Charles yells. "You know, the ones that are half a heart and you put them together and it says 'Best Friends Forever' on it?"

"Definatly not." Jake replies. "What are we, fourth grade girls?"

"I guess not..."

"So what is it then Peralta? Just spit it out already" Rosa asks, finally turning her attention to Jake. 

"I have a sister!" Jake yells.

Charles gasps.

"A female version of Jake?" He says.

"I hope not." Amy says, giving Jake a look of disgust. "Well, what I mean is I hope she is not as much of a disaster as you are. No offence, but if she is as disorganized as you, I don't think I'll be able to handle the both of you!"

"What are you talking about, Amy?" Charles says, sticking up for Jake. "Two Jakes would be amazing! Then I can always have one 'Jake' whenever you are busy with the other 'Jake'."

"Charles, it is his sister, not a carbon copy of him." Rosa says. 

"A clone of Jake would be so cool." Charles says. "Imagine that."

"Then I could make it listen to all of Amy's ranting...I mean I love hearing you talk about your binders and crosswords and history...haha." Jake says quickly, trying to cover up for himself. 

Amy just rolls her eyes. 

"Anyways, I reached out to her and it turns out she has just recently moved to Brooklyn, for work...I think." Jake explains. "I invited her to come to Shaw's with us after shift, since she doesn't know many people who live around here, if that's cool with everyone."

"Of course that's cool with us, Jake," Terry says finally joining in on the conversation. "I'm sure it will be nice to meet her."

"So wait, did she just drop everything and move to Brooklyn?" Gina asks. 

"I'm not sure...you can ask her that when you meet her tonight." Jake replies. 

"Do you know if she's single? Because If she's single, then I can find someone to set her up with!"

"Umm...she might not be looking for someone, Gina. Maybe she is trying to focus on work...or something."

"Jake, everyone is looking for someone. So let me handle the match making here, okay?"

"I mean, sure." 

"Let's hope she doesn't look anything like you or else that will make my job way harder."

"What's going on out here?" Holt says, coming out of his office. "Why is everyone just standing around Peralta?"

"Jake just told us he has a sister." Rosa explains. 

"Well, congrats Peralta." Holt says. "Now everyone, get back to work. We can talk about the other Peralta later, in hopes that she is better than her brother."
