He dances with the mop in the corner as I sit, arms curled around my legs.

"You know he's toying with you, right?" He hums in my direction.

I ignore him. For the first time, I tune him out.

"He will never, no matter how much you daydream about it,"

He drops the mop and all of a sudden he's next to my ear.

"He will never love you. Not like me."

I shove Evan off and walk out of the janitor's closet.

I only make it outside, just beyond the front doors.
