A crow swooped down to where you were standing, a scroll tied around it's neck. You slowly came up to the bird and slid the scroll out from it's collar, then it flew away, ebony feathers floating through the air and to the ground. You opened the small papyrus:

Great. Time to walk all the way back to Charon. All this back and forth action from one side of the underworld, to the other, really tired you out. You started wondering if you were ever going to leave. Especially with how Hades had grown a liking to you.
"I brought the woman to the pyre." You said as you walked up to Charon.
"Ah, I like having an assistant. If only you were dead, you could stay forever."
"Unfortunately... not my plan."
"Such is life. And death. On to the next lost souls. A family devastated by war wanders without refuge."
"I know how it feels to lose a home."
"Yes, you all have sad stories to tell. At least most who come here are dead now."
"I think I would still be sad if I was dead."
"The suffering you fleshlings inflict on each other never ceases to astound me. And that's why we are helping all the lost we can."
"You're right. They deserve to have somewhere safe to stay."
"Go to the Village of the Condemned. You'll find them there." You walked down the dirt road a bit until you found yourself in the village. Asking around, you located the small family of three.
"Please, don't hurt us! Leave us alone." Pleaded the wife as the husband stood in front of them,
"Stay back! I know how to fight."
"I'm not here to hurt you."
"Then what do you want?"
"I've come to take you away from this place. Take you somewhere safe."
"Why would you help us?"
"I was asked to find you and take you to safety."
"We have no friends here, only each other. But the hounds are drawing close, so what choice do we have?"
"There has to be somewhere nearby where you'd be safe."
"There's a cave not too far from here that could provide some shelter. It didn't look very inviting, but it's better than here."
"Anywhere else?"
"There was also an abandoned camp. It would be ideal if not for all the strange creatures in the area... it could be dangerous."
"We should go to the camp. Stay close." You escorted the family to the encampment where you snuck around, spotting about 10 isu guards. You hid in one of the dead bushes, a guard standing right on the edge of it. Heart racing, you drew your dagger, lodged it through his throat, grabbed his head, pulling him back to the ground, and slamming it so the blade stuck out more so you could sheath it out. While you were looting his body for drachme, another guard heard the commotion and went to investigate. Blood soaking your hands you hid even further into the bushed, breathing slowly, trying to contain yourself. The isu guard unsheathed his spear, dragging it along the tips of the bush's dead twigs.

"Huh?!" The guard exclaimed, knowing now is your time to strike you leaped out of the bushes and attacked him, pushed him down to the ground and pulled out your spear above your head, ready to sink it into his rapidly beating heart.
"

W-wait!" pleaded the isu guard. You looked at him, confused, but not letting your guard down.
"What is it now?" He lifted a quivering finger to the right, and you turned your head in that direction. Standing next to the family was Hades, again. You grunted, looking back down to the isu guard, slamming the spear deep in-between his ribs. His eyes flew open even wider then they were before -- he jerked forward with a gasp, and fell back to the ground, every muscle in his lifeless body relaxing. You got off of the now dead isu soldier, and sheathed your spear from his chest. Getting up off of the ground, you turned to face Hades who was talking with the frightened family. As you walked closer to him he turned to you,

"Well, if it isn't my favorite misthios." He smiled, fuck, why does he have to do that to you?

"What do you want now Hades?"

"I came to talk to you, of course."

"But I was helping them." You said with a bit of anger, you had to admit, you were slightly pissed at how Hades always barges in.

"Oh, do not worry about them anymore, misthios, let them explore their new home." You looked at them, and they smiled, for a moment it almost seemed genuine. You nodded.

"Great! Now meet me at my palace. We need to... talk." He then vanished. Ugh, why couldn't he just take you with him instead of you having to walk for miles? You sighed and began your journey back to his "wonderful" palace.
