On The Dance Floor

Moment of truth

She smiles brightly going and excepting her award and crown.

I hip bump her and smile. 

"What's your studio?" 

"Studio 42!" Makayla announces proudly. 

"Give it up for your top scoring junior solos!" 

We all bow, and head back to our seats as they start announcing special judges awards. 

"Hi, I'm Andy Yates, and I have a special judges award for emotion that I would like to give to Miss Ava Lypton from studio 42!" 

I smile and get up going over excepting my plaque and crown. 

I hug Andy and she hugs back. 

"You have talent, don't waist it"

I nod as we pull away from the hug "Thank you" 

I go back to my spot, my smile still wide. 

They finish up with some kind words.

When we are done we head back to the dressing room.

"Clean sweep! Clean Sweep!" We all chant.

"That was amazing for our first compeititon!" Mrs. Hanna smiles. 

"And lets give it up for the top score for the day, Miss Makayla!" 

Makalya smiles and does a mini bow, starting to remove her makeup. 

Mrs. Hanna smiles, walking over to Makayla, her eyes filled with tears of happiness. 

I remove my makeup, texting Ryder and my dad the results.

"And you got a judges award!" Mrs. Hanna smiles. 

I smile as she hugs me. 

I take down my hair, setting my crown down on my vanity. 

Mrs. Hanna walks out along with Paige, knowing we wanted to stay and watch the senior stuff that started in and hour.

"And just like that, our three weeks with the football heads are over" Jordan smiles.

"Thank gosh!" Faith chimes in. 

I change into my warm ups, slipping on some warm up boots as we make our way out to the commen area. 

We make our way to the conssesions and I order a peice of pizza and a bottle of water. 

We all sit down and start talking about our beach day tommarow. 

I notice Justin and Will coming our way, Justin wraps his arms around Sophie and she jumps slightly, before kissing his cheek. 

"You guys did amazing!" Justin smiles. 

"Thank you!" We all chime in unison. 

"Creepy" Justin shutters. 

Will stands there awkwardly, sneaking glances at me. 

"Where's the rest of your team?" I ask. 

"They all went back to the hotel, but we decided to stick around" Justin explains, sitting down. 

I nod taking a bite of my pizza. 

"So Ava, I heard your Paiges Maid-of-honor!" Sophie sqeuals. 

"I am" I nod "And way to evesdrop" 

"I couldn't help it! Paige is going to look to pretty in her dress! Has she picked it out yet?" Sophie asks."Nope! But I'm guessing you all will be invited" I smile. 

"Plus ones?" Justin asks. 

"I'll think about it" I laugh.

Will rubs the back of his neck "Ava can we talk?" 

I look over at Sophie who nods. 

"I guess" I shrug. 

I get up and grab my plate. 

We walk over to the garbage and I throw it away. 

"Walk and talk, because there are cute leotards over there" I state.

Will chuckles a little but follows me. 

We walk over to the vendors and I start looking around. 

"Speak" I laugh. 

"I'm going to be completly honest right now" Will states "Apart of me has always had a crush on you" 

My mouth falls open "What?"

"That's what everything comes from, The nickname, the bullying, Everything, Because I knew if I made you think I hated you and you Hate me then it wouldn't be a problem" Will explains. 

"And you didn't want to have the football team make fun of you for liking a dancer" I nod. 

"Yeah..." Will sighs "I'm sorry" 

I laugh "You know I kinda had a hint, between you storming out the other day and looking away everytime I did a trick with the boys" 

"Gotta admit I stepped out during your Duet" He laughs. 

"Great" I shake my head with a smile playing on my lips.

"So...What does this mean for us?" He asks. 

I sigh, picking out two leotards, a pair of sweatpants and a hoodie "We'll see sanders"
