On The Dance Floor

Moment of truth

"You're going to do amazing" I say to Makayla as Jordan finishes his solo and walks off the other direction. 

I flash him a thumbs up as Makayla takes the wings. 

"Next up we have entry number 60 with before he cheats" 

Makayla takes the stage as I cheer for her. 

The music starts and Makayla turns on her sass. 

And that was the Makayla I knew. 

I bet the Football team was shocked. 

She was shy at school, but once she took the stage, she was a true star. 

I cheer at the top of my lungs once she's finished. 

When she walks off I grab her in a hug "That was amazing!" 

"Thanks" She says, as I hand her a water bottle

We wait backstage watching the rest of our team join us and giving us hugs. 

We take the stage for awards and hold hands. 

"First we have Junior groups!" The announcer says. 

"In third place we have entry 10 with Watch me!" 

One of the girls gets up excepting the award. 

"In second..."

We hold our breath. 

"We have entry number 20 with The wizard of oz!" 

A boy gets up and excepts the award, sitting back down. 

"And in first...We have Entry number 25 Freakshow!" 

We all jump up and a few screams escape our lips. 

We go and except the award. 

"What's your studio?" 

"Studio 42!" We all shout.

We bow as the audience claps, enjoying our 5 seconds of fame. 

"Next we have Junior duo trio" 

They announce 5th, 4th and 3rd, still no sign of Jordan and I's duet. 

"In second we have entry number 29 with shout!" 

Jordan and I's grip gets tighter. 

"In first we have entry number...30-"

We don't wait for our song to be called and we jump up, going and accepting our award. 

"What's the name of your studio"

"Studio 42!" 

We bow and sit back down. 

They go through mini groups, solos, and duo trios.

"Now for junior solos!" 

Jordan, Makayla and I hold hands. 

"In third place we have entry number 59 with order!" 

We all clap as Jordan smiles and gets up, accepting his award and standing in line.

"first runner up we have entry number 55 with home!" 

"I didn't place" Makayla mutters to herself as I smile, standing up and excepting my award.

I stand next to Jordan with a bright smile on my face. 

"In first place we have entry number 60 with before he cheats" 

My mouth drops open in shock, quickly turning into a smile, looking over at Makayla who is in shock.
