"(Y-Y/N)? Is that really you?" I nod frantically. 

I open the door to the cell and run in. I fall in front of him. 

"Why are you here?" he asks. I laugh a little.

"I missed you I guess." I smile at him. He looks confused. 

"Missed me?" 

I tilt my head. 

"Of course. You're my husband and... the father to our daughter." I look over at (Daughter's name). She's hidden behind the cell door. I wave her in here. Varian gasps. 

"(Daughter's name), this is your daddy." I point to Varian. 

"Daddy?" (Daughter's name) asks.

"Yeah... I'm your daddy. You're my daughter." he says a bit shocked. 

(Daughter's name) runs into Varian's arms. He looks like he's about to cry from her touch. I cried. He looked at me.

"Why do you want me back? You have everything I ever promised you. A home, a family. Why do you need me?" 

W H A T.

Unbelievable. I come to visit him, show him our daughter. And he thinks I NEED him!? I don't need him. I might want to still be with him, but I don't need him. I can fend for myself. 

"I don't need you," I said back. 

"Oh... then why are you back?"

"I just um..."

"Do you not actually want me back? You came here to end things, didn't you? I love you. I can tell you things to change your mind. I will, I really will." he says looking away.

"What? No N-" He cuts me off. 

"No, I understand now. Just do it quickly. Please. Get it done and over with." he says starting to cry.

"Wait, Vari-"

"No just do it if that's what you want. But just know I love you and I can tell you reasons for you to take me back. I will. I love you."

I look at him. 

"I don't need you to sell me your reasons to want you. I don't need you to search for the proof that I should. You don't have to convince me. You don't have to be scared you're not enough. Because what we had going, was good."

He looks at me shocked. 

"I don't need more reminders of all that's been broken. I don't need you to fix what I'd rather forget. Clear the slate and start over. Try to quiet the noises in your head. We can't compete with all that." 

I take his hand. 

"So what if it's us? What if it's us? And only us. And what came before won't count anymore or matter, can we try that? What if it's you and what if it's me and what if that's all that we needed to be? And the rest of the world falls away. What do you say?" 

He smiles.

"I never thought there'd be someone like you who would want me."

I shrug "Well..." 

"But I give you ten thousand reasons to not let me go!" 

He spins me around and we laugh.

"But if you really see me. If you like me for me and nothing else. Well, that's all that I've wanted for longer than you could possibly know! And it can be us, it can be us, and only us. And what came before won't count anymore or matter. We can try that!"

"It's not so impossible!" we sing looking at each other, holding hands.  

"Nobody else with the two of us here." he stroked my cheek. 

"Cuz you're saying it's possible."

"We can just watch the whole world disappear." I sing back. 

"Till your the only one I still know how to see."  he holds me close. 

We have a moment of just looking into the eyes of each other. 

"It's just you and me."

"It'll be us. It'll be us. And only us. And what came before won't count anymore!" I tackle him down back on the floor. 

"We can try that! You and me! And that's all that we need it to be! And the rest of the world falls away. And the rest of the world falls away."  We smile at each other. 

"The world falls away. The world falls away. And it's only us." 

He pulls me into a huge hug and I hug back. I can feel his tears rushing down my back. 

I started to cry too.

He smiles at me a bit.

"(Y/N), darling, why are you crying?" he asks, stroking my cheek. 

"D-did you seriously expect m-me not to c-c-cry after you sing th-that!?" I wipe my eyes. He laughs a bit. 

I look at him. He looks at me. 

Both of our cheeks were stained with tears. Our eyes were puffy and red from crying. 

We laugh. He grabs my cheek and pulls me into a passionate kiss. I kiss back. 

When we pull away we laugh and he pulls me into his arms. I close my eyes. 

"I'm sorry Varian," I say as I bury my face in his neck. 

"I know you are. I forgive you."

He forgives me. 

I have waited for way too long to hear those words. 

"I'm so glad. I love you, Varian." I smile. 

He smiles back. 

"I love you too."

We pull into another passionate kiss and stay that way for who knows how long.

I cried.
