I learned from a very young age that applying yourself for and to things is never a good idea, sure there's always the chance you might win or get better at something
But chances are you won't.
In elementary school we had student of the month assemblies and I remember I tried hard every single year to be called up at least ONCE to be honored for at least trying, but I never was.
I also quickly learned that it hurts when you try hard and it doesn't work out.
I no longer apply myself to things, not sports, not relationships, nothing. Because you can't get something out of nothing
And I'd rather have nothing than be hurt.
