Chapter 4: Family Getting Bigger

 "Um, h-hello," I greeted them. "Happiness and Dicky, this is our daughter Foxohawk." Daddy introduced me to them. 

I was about to walk away so I wouldn't ruin anything (as usual) until mum stopped me. "Foxohawk, you don't have to go." She pulled out my chair out from under the table. 

"You could still eat with us, you know." I decided to join them. I sat right next to Happiness. She didn't say a word to me.

 Breakfast was silent as we all ate. I noticed that there was no knives to cut the pancakes with, I didn't want to be rude so I just cut it up with my fork. 

I decided to break the silence. "Um, where are you guys from?" I asked Happiness. She didn't answer me. That made me feel very embarrassed for asking. 

My daddy looked at his watch. "Welp, time to go to work," he said as he got up out of his seat. Mum did too. Daddy went over to me and kissed me on the forehead while mum was kissing Croc goodbye. 

"Good bye, fox girl." "Good bye, daddy." I said back. After he was done, mum had her turn of kissing me goodbye while daddy was telling goodbye to everyone else. 

"Good bye, my shooting star." Mum kiss me and then whispered something in my ear. "Make sure that Happiness doesn't hurt herself, ok." She told me.

 Before I could respond, mum and daddy were already out the door. It was now just the four of us, home alone. 

What did mum mean by that? Happiness wouldn't hurt herself, at least I don't think that she would. Then it dawned on me, the reasons that we didn't use knives for our pancakes was because of Happiness. 

I turned towards Happiness and saw something that I didn't see the first time I look at her. She had a scar going across her neck. Maybe she was trying to cut herself. 

Then I looked at it closely and carefully. That didn't look like a cut, it looked like a... bite mark. How did she get that? I mean, she was with Skater. Wait... did Skater bite her? My thoughts were interrupted by the window opening.

 We all looked at the window to see who opened it. The person who opened the window pulled themselves up and in the house. 

"Skater!" Happiness shouted as she ran into Skater's arms. "Heya, kitt cat," He greeted her. Dicky floated over to them and joined them for a hug. 

My brother and I just sat there. Skater then finally looked up at us. "Hi guys," he nodded to us. "Heya perv." Was all my brother said to him. I think that he still was holding a grudge against him from last night.

 Skater then looked at me. "Heya Foxy." When he said that, my face turned bright red. "Um, h-hello Skater," I greeted him. Happiness then started to pull him towards the window. 

"Come on, skater. If we leave now, we can get there faster." She told him. He was leaving again? I didn't want him to leave again. I had to stop them. 

"Wait! Don't leave," I blurted out. I mentally pinched myself. They turned towards me. Everyone was staring at me weirdly. 

"Um... you don't have to leave us," I said meekly. "Oh Yeah, forgot about your girlfriend," Happiness said. Mine and Skater's faces turned bright red.
