Arc 2: Chapter 3

"I heard rumors that consort Dài Yuan and consort Dīng Xiuyang visit each other these days." Once Dài Yuan's name was mentioned, she looked at the emperor with a complicated gaze. She looked away and looked at anything else but him.

"Yes, the rumors are true. The three of us get along now. You don't need to worry about the three of us." Hè Meifeng butted in as she finished sipping her tea. The emperor looked at Hè Meifeng as his gaze got complicated but he looked away and stared at Dīng Xiuyang.

"Im glad that the three of you got along. I wanted to tell you, consort Dài Yuan, the your gege is here."

"Gege?! Where is he right now? Why didn't he tell us that he was here?" Dài Yuan looked around in anticipation and her eyes landed on a tall, male figure behind the tree. Dài Yuan gently smiled at his direction.

Hè Meifeng followed her line of sight and saw the man staring at her. Hè Meifeng winked back causing him to blush and hide in the tree for a while. He then came out after some thought and walked like nothing happened. He walked towards his sister, Dài Yuan and hugged each other.

"Gege! Why didn't you tell us you were coming!"

"Im sorry. But I couldn't announce that I was coming or I would get assasinated by the huns."

"I understand! Im just glad that your back!"

They then began to talk with each other as they sat down at the table. They were sitted together and the emperor stole Hè Meifeng's seat to sit beside the heroine, Dīng Xiuyang. Hè Meifeng didn't mind as she sat between the emperor and the general, which is Dài Yuan's brother.

Hè Meifeng then rose an eyebrow at the general. This was the fourth time since he glance at her direction which Hè Meifeng noticed since she was not doing anything except eating and breathing and acting like a normal human.

Since the general was far away, Hè Meifeng didn't notice how handsome he looks up close. With his lean and strong body filled with scars and a bit tanned by training under the sun, long violet hair just like Dài Yuan's, and his sharp ocean blue eyes similar to Dài Yuan's cornflower colored eyes.

Once the general saw Hè Meifeng's raised eyebrows, he blushed once again and looked away. Dài Yuan, who saw his brother's actions, looked at Hè Meifeng and him then grinned.

She then stood up and grabbed the general's hand and dragged him nearer to Hè Meifeng. The general then know he couldn't escape from his sister, sighed and stood up and smiled at Hè Meifeng.

"Hè Meifeng! Meet my brother, who is the general, Cheng Liqin. He is actually my half brother but whatever." Dài Yuan introduced.

Cheng Liqin then bowed towards Hè Meifeng in which she stood up and bowed back as well. "Hello, General Cheng Liqin, this consort is called Hè Meifeng. Thank you for leading the army to fight against the huns. Your services in the army is appreciated by everyone."

"Oh- your a consort? Of course you are! Your really beautiful- I mean your not! I mean you are! I- uh..." Cheng Liqin was freaking out on what to say so he looked at his sister for help who was covering her mouth and her shoulders were shaking uncrontollable. If it weren't for her eyes that looked like she was having fun, it would have looked like she was scared.

"Hahahaha! Gege! Hahaha! It's okay gege!" Dài Yuan couldn't stop herself and laughed. She then pat his brother's back once she finished.

"This consort thanks general for his complement. You may visit me anytime for I don't have anything to do nowadays except chatting with the other consorts." Once Hè Meifeng said that, a smack on the table sounded. She looked back and saw the emperor with his hand on the table. He then glared at Cheng Liqin.

"Consort Hè Meifeng. You are my consort. I advise you not to be with another man unless you have someone else with you since rumors might sprung up that the two of you are in a relationship."

Hè Meifeng faced the emperor and bowed. "This consort understands. Please don't worry about this consort." She smiled and sat back down and drank some tea.

[The emperor seems to still like you.]

'Not that much. His thoughts have been filling with the heroine in his mind. So he'll forget about me.'

[Okay then Host. Please don't put any attention to yourself that much. He might get interested in you again.]

'I know. I'll do my missions without fail. But first! I must finish eating all these food!' Hè Meifeng smiled as she took a bite and ate a lot of things that day.

The generals seems to be interested in her so Hè Meinfeng started brewing her plan on how to leave the palace. She almost completed her second main task which was slapping all the concubine's faces but she hasn't slap Dài Yuan yet.

'Ahh~ thinking is so tiring. Why can't someone else do it for me instead...'
