"Brother from another mother" Kat said plainly almost as if she says this a lot.

"What's he like?" I ask curiously.

"Like a brother" She said this in a 'dur' tone of voice so now I feel a bit silly for not seeing that coming.

"R... right, how old are you?" I ask, most people feel their mates at eighteen and my people live for longer so I'm actually one hundred and twenty three which is still young.

"Seventeen, you?" Kat answered honestly; so even if she was mine I wouldn't know yet.

"Twenty three" I answered with a half-truth, its slightly true.

"Hhmm Nick and ... he would be the same age as you" she murmured. 'He' who is this?

"Who?" I asked sensing a dark past.

"Blood brother" Kat says frowning, an idea occurred to me.

"Hmmm how did you get in? Being under aged and all" I hummed already knowing some of the answer.

"Fake ID plus knowing the owner is a great help" I sense a bit of sarcasm with last bit, plus I'm surprised but before I could say anything" Kat continued "also I'm just Nicks wing man"

"Wing woman" I suggested with a chuckle and to my delight I saw her smile for the first time but she shook her head in disapproval. Her face drooped and muttered something that I couldn't hear which is rare for me with excellent hearing.

I watched a man in a sharp suit and tie strut up to our table with a while greeting us with a wide smirk; from the way this guy walked and acted I didn't like him one bit, I don't care what his personality is like.

"Why hello Kai, fancy seeing you hear again" he smirked at Kat, why did he call her 'Kai' I mean it's cute but that's not the point "I thought you said you would never come here again" his smirk broke in to a nasty grin, I turn to look at Kat and she looked worried and scared, what is happening.

"Yes I did but my friend wanted to come back so I came along knowing what your clubs and pubs are like" Kat glared daggers at him and tension filled the air.

"Fine, Kai why don't you come to the V.I.P area" He smiled evilly I didn't like this and Kat looked horrified

"Not ever again" She said sternly "and please stop calling me that" Kat said in a strained voice.

"Oh? But I like it but your body didn't quite comply" He liked his lips in what was meant to be a seductive way and Kat just shivered in disgust.

"Shut up" She said lowly but it rang wit danger, he just shrugged.

"What are you going to do kill me or get someone else killed in the processed? Who will it be this time? Your brother replacement or your boy toy, over there? hmmm" He pushed to may boundaries for my liking, Kat was there horrified, scared and was fighting back tears; I feel like her dark past has just been hinted at.

"Don't you dare hurt them" Her voice growled with menace, this voice would scare off most rogues and is more powerful than my alpha voice.

"Only time will tell" he said before finally leaving.

Kat took a great calming breath and turned to me with a deadpan expression. "I'm sorry you had to sit thought that."

"No its fine, are you alright?" I asked as Kat seemed ready to break down.

"I will be I just need to get out of here" she shivered again

"Shall we go to that hotel you booked?" I asked earning myself a glare from her. "It's late and I don't want to leave you to walk to a hotel by yourself" I quickly explained.

"Alright, thank you" Kat said before standing up and pulling out her phone.

Once outside the cool air pushed past our skin, the only light we had were the street lamps on this cloudy night. Now I could see thing plainly and in decent light, I could see Kat's curly hair is a chocolate brown with hints of ginger, her eyes were still dark with the rare trace of green but I could also make out a light brown; her lips were ruby red with a shiny silver scar down the right side, it dipped into the plush flesh of her lips leaving a crevice of silver. Her skin was light, lighter than most but not as pale as a vampire. In all her essence she looked like a goddess from her looks to the way she held herself and walked, her frame wasn't slim but it was perfectly cuddly and curvy.

As we walked the hotel in question came into sight, compared to most hotels it was small and had a sense of the countryside, which was why it wants very popular in the city. When we were several streets away I caught the sound soft sound of feet behind us gradually getting closer. We were walking at a slow pace, so when Kat head them she moved a little faster but I kept pace with her and pretended not to notice her change in pace and the way she was stealing glances at me and the surroundings, panic began to take her over when we saw a dark shape in front of us; we stopped and the person behind us caught up.

"Hello again kitten" the guy in front sleazy voice scraped through the night

"Hey don't you come play with us like last time" the guy behind us walked to join the other.

"I'd rather not" Kat did her best to sound strong and it was rather convincing.

"Come on kitten, you can't deny you dint enjoy it" (I can't keep doing this T.T) His voice disused me and my insides turn, what where they plan on doing I know I won't like it one bit.

"Gentlemen I would like it if you left me and my girlfriend alone" I butted in a falsely polite tone that caught the guys attention.

"Come on 'she' taken" one of them said with empathizing 'she', what am I missing.

With no other words said they left quickly; after that we got to the hotel much quicker than we would have without the interruption, at the entrance Kat turned to look at me.

"Thank you for what you did" she whispered looking adorable.

"I was just going what was right" I say with a small smile.

"You must be so confused" Kat chuckled even though it was not funny, but she want wrong,I am confused but I don't know if I should push it.

"Who could you guess?" I asked feeling unsure for the answer.

"I can see it, so I think introductions are in order to clear this up" Kat took a deep breath, "I'm Kai Bates" Kat or Kai spoke quietly, so Kat is a boy called Kai that would explain why everyone calls him Kai but why does he dress as a girl but I'll ask another time in a better place.

"Well Kai it's a pleasure to meet you, I'm patch Evans" I introduced myself finally.

"Well I hope patch we meet again" He waved bye to me before walking in to the hotel, I couldn't stop myself from smiling while distance between us so I could shift and run back to the pack.
