"Okay boys, be on your best behavior. No acting out," the woman warned the three boys, earning a nod from the three.
"Okay, Ms. Aki!" little Izuku chirped excitedly, tightening his grip on the woman's hand. His big green eyes darted around excitedly as he impatiently rocked on his heels.
Katsuki, Izuku, and Hitoshi were being dropped off at their new foster home. Hitoshi was nervous while Katsuki was quite upset, and Izuku was, well, excited as always. The four-year-old was oblivious to the situation he was in. He didn't understand that Mama wasn't coming back to get him. He just thought his Mama was away for a trip. It had been close to a year, but little Izuku still waited for his Mama every single day, which annoyed the blonde boy. Katsuki had been in foster care for close to two years. His parents were killed during a villain attack, leaving the boy alone. The six-year-old had been full of rage ever since he grasped the concept of what happened (Katsuki was quite mature for his age). Then there was Hitoshi. The poor boy had been in foster care his entire life. His parents just didn't want him, and due to Hitoshi's... "issues" (trust issues, doesn't talk much, shuts down sometimes)... every foster parent had given up on him. Hitoshi keeps himself distant from people, other than little Izuku and Katsuki. Hitoshi had zero intentions of getting close to anyone, but Izuku had different plans. Izuku chose his "best frens!" and he had no intention of letting them go any time soon. Katsuki fought it for a while, but he eventually caved in. It was better than listening to the four-year-old cry for seemed like hours.
Ms. Aki approached the door, she got her hand free from Izuku's grasp and knocked on the door. Izuku walked over to Hitoshi and grabbed the older's hand. Hitoshi looked down at the boy and smiled ever so slightly. Izuku was like a little ray of sunshine, he always seemed to brighten people up. "Kacchan!" the boy eagerly called out, reaching his hand out to grab the blondes. Katsuki rolled his eyes and shook his head but after a certain look from a certain purple haired boy, he grabbed Izuku's hand. The door of the house opened, revealing a man and a woman. The woman cooed over the adorable boys while the man invited the small group in. Ms. Aki smiled and bowed slightly before leading the boys inside the house. The man lead them to the living room. Ms. Aki sat down on the couch while Hitoshi helped Izuku on the couch, Katsuki hesitantly sitting down as well. The couple sat down on the couch in front of the other.
"Oh, I'm Kayio-" the woman introduced herself, "-and this is my husband Katashi," she pointed to the man.
"I 'Zuku!" Izuku chirped out, waving at the man and woman, earning a snort from Katsuki.
"He can't even talk right," Katsuki mocked quietly.
"He's four!" Hitoshi cut in, glaring at the blonde.
"Boys!" Ms. Aki cut in sharply, causing Hitoshi to flinch and lower his head. Izuku frowned and looked down, mumbling a "I sorry." Katsuki averted his gaze and kept quiet instead of arguing back like he normally would. Ms. Aki sighed softly and shot the couple an apologetic look before taking some papers out of her bag. There were three binders and a couple of files. She set them on the table, sorting them out briefly. Hitoshi's file was the biggest, Izuku's the smallest.
-small time skip (during this time, Ms. Aki explained the boys' past and their quirks)-
"Bye-bye, Ms. Aki!" Izuku said, waving quickly at the woman.
"Bye, boys. You all behave. I'll be back in about two weeks to check in with everything," Ms. Aki said.
After quite a few more "bye-bye's" from Izuku, Ms. Aki left the boys to their new foster parents. Hitoshi and Katsuki sat quietly on the couch while Izuku played with his All Might action figure he had dug out of the bag that held his stuff. Most of his stuff consisted of All Might stuff, all from his birth mother. Inko made sure to leave Izuku with all his favorite stuff. Katashi walked back into the living room, sitting down on the other couch. He offered a small smile to the boys. "Kayio is about to start dinner. I can show you all around?" he offered, glancing between the children. Hitoshi shrugged, Katsuki didn't respond, and Izuku was too lost in his own little world to even notice what was going on. He was in "superhero world" as Ms. Aki would call it. Katashi stood up, clapping his hands together (in that dad way). "Great! Let's go then," he hummed. Hitoshi nodded and slid off the couch, catching Izuku's attention. Izuku got up and rushed to Hitoshi's side, grabbing his hand. "Bubba?" he asked, tilting his head a bit. Yes, that's what Izuku called Hitoshi. Hitoshi didn't mind as he already pretty much accepted Izuku as his own sibling, Katsuki as well. Izuku had tried calling Katsuki "Bubba" but that didn't end too well... There were burns and tears involved... So, "Kacchan" it was!
Katashi gave the boys a tour of the house. It was a decently sized house, not too big but not too small. The boys were going to be sharing a bedroom for now. They were given the option to have their sperate rooms, but they were all too afraid to be alone in this unfamiliar place. Currently, everyone sat at the table, eating dinner. Hitoshi sat there quietly, staring blankly at his bowl of ramen while Katsuki glared at the table. Meanwhile, Izuku was going to town on his dinner. He was making a bit of a mess, but he was quite happy. Izuku didn't understand why the other two were quiet. They seemed sad, they always did whenever they arrived at a new place.
"Boys, are you gonna eat? Do you not like it? I can fix you something else," Kayio offered in a gentle voice. She understood why the two were quiet, but she didn't want them going to bed hungry.
"No, ma'am! S-Sorry," Hitoshi said quickly. He glanced over at Katsuki, who was still staring at the table. He gave the blonde a gentle nudge, giving him a look. Katsuki sighed and started to eat.
The boys finished their dinner. They all had a bath, and now they were in bed, well Katsuki was in his bed. Hitoshi and Izuku were playing together. Hitoshi was tired, but Izuku had asked him to play and he couldn't say no to him. Hitoshi sat in the closet with a blanket over his head.
"Help me! Oh please someone help!" he called out, a small smile on his face. Hitoshi was always amazed by Izuku. That boy was always happy and ready to cheer people up.
Izuku popped out from behind his bed, dressed in his All Might onesie. With the biggest grin on his face, he ran to the closet and threw it open.
"I am here!" he called with a determined look on his face. He pulled the sheet off of Hitoshi and giggled. "Again, again!"
"But this was the sixth time, Izuku. It's getting late and I'm sleepy," Hitoshi said with a yawn. Izuku pouted but nodded.
Hitoshi helped Izuku into bed. He hugged the younger tightly and kissed his head. He then went over to Katsuki's bed. Katsuki was still awake, staring at the ceiling. Katsuki hated the place. He hated everything about his life right now (other than Hitoshi and Izuku, but he'd never admit that).
"I love you Katsuki. I know you're gonna scoff, but you and Izuku are the only family that's ever kept me around. I know you don't like foster homes and stuff, but at least give it a try," Hitoshi said quietly. Katsuki just scoffed and turned his back to the boy. Hitoshi sighed, looking down. He understood the way Katsuki felt, but he hated seeing him like that. He hated seeing people so down because he knows what pain feels like. It even worse to see the people he called his siblings sad. Hitoshi went over to his own bed and crawled under the blankets, and after a bit of daydreaming, Hitoshi fell asleep.
A/N:
So this chapter kinda sets the scene for the main part of the story. And sorry the last part is rushed, I just wanted to go ahead and get this book going. I hope you all enjoy it!
