Chapter Three Part Two

Start from the beginning

"I'm sorry I upset you. That was also what you were going to tell me about later, right?" He nodded, then looked away guiltily. "It's not your fault, and I understand it's a delicate topic. So wait until you're ready, okay?" I brought his face closer to mind so our noses were almost touching. I used my thumb to caress his cheekbone, and as we leaned in, I felt something in my chest. This is a moment. This is what it feels like. How cheesy. Not bad though. I started to slowly close my eyes and so did he. Then I saw his eyes shoot open in realisation and push himself off of me quickly. He looked scared, petrified, even. Come on, it wasn't that bad, right? I guess being that close to me would make anyone that horrified. He curled up into a ball and started drawing circles on the floor with his finger.

-Eli's POV-

This was my fault. Like it was before. Like it will always be. I always do the wrong thing. But it was wrong. We couldn't have. People would have hurt me if I did. But as I looked up, I saw I hurt Aidan. I didn't want to hurt him. I didn't know what to think. But why did he want to... Want to... Do... That? It was some kind of joke. It had to be. I crawled up and tucked my knees up to my chest and start draw circles on the floor with my index finger. It's what I always did when I was confused.

Suddenly, the bell rang. It surprised me. Are we still making that deal? I don't want to tell him anymore. I chanced a quick look up and he was getting up.

"Look" he said. "I'm guessing you want to be on your own. But please, don't do anything rash. Ok? See you on Monday." Oh yeah. It's Friday. At least I have two days until everyone hates me again. But oh well.

Aidan's POV

I hesitantly got up from the floor and walked through the corridors heading towards the exits, thinking: Was that a good idea? Leaving him like that? But I guess he needs space. I wouldn't want to be comforted by some ass who almost tried to do... To do... That.

As I walked down the road, I noticed there was a park across the street, which looked pretty quiet. This would help me get my mind off things, hopefully. A bit of fresh air.

I got out one of my two jackets (It's October it's cold OK) and my apple juice and sat down on a nicely painted red-green bright bench.

I don't know how long I sat there, but after what I can assume was about 1 1/2 hours of spacing out I saw a young girl running down the street and into the park. She saw me and ran over saying "Help me help me sis is gonna get me!" Sighing, I brought her onto my knee and started talking to her. Or trying to.

"Hi, what's your name? My name is Aidan." I said as slowly as possible. She replied:

"My name is Wosey".

"Rosey?" I repeated. She nodded and clapped her hands. How adorable.

"Apple!" She shouted. I looked at her confused, before she pointed to the bottle I had of apple juice that had a picture of an apple of it (predictably). She repeated "Apple!"

"Umm..." I said, thinking of a way to make her happy until her "sis" got here. Kids like candy, right? I know I did.

"Do you like lollipops?" I asked.

"Lollipops! I! Like! Lollipops!" she nodded and smiled a goofy wide smile.

"Uhh" I said, searching for the candy I originally intended to give to Eli. "Here" I said as I pulled out a slightly battered looking lollipop from my bag.

"You can have it!" I said, unwrapping it for her. She sucked on it contently and gave me another one of her wide smiles. I smiled back and went back to looking at the sky before I heard a voice shout "Rose! Rosebella! Come on!" I looked over to see a very attractive girl with blonde hair and slightly tanned skin, along with large and well contained you-know-whatsies (wink wink)

"Um.. Hi!" I shouted, then talked to the small girl on my knee "Is that your sis?"

"Yup!" She shouted.

"Excuse me!" I called. "She's here!" And I waved my hand up in the air to get the lovely lady's attention. She turned around, saw me, furrowed her eyebrows, then looked at Rosey by me and she started running over to us.

"Um... Is is who you're looking for?" I said.

"O my gosh yes thank you! Sorry, she must've been a pain, right? Rose, you must not run away, ok? Now come here". She gestured her arms for the girl to come into her arms. Refusing, instead she sat next to me, moving the girl onto her lap.

"Where'd you get this lollipop from?" The woman asked curiously.

"Oh, um, sorry, I gave it to her, she looked like she was going to cry, I'm sorry it looks strange or something, I swear I didn't do anything weird to them. We just made them in class."

"Oh, it's OK sweetie, my little brother made some as well, but he sent me a pic. The kinda collapsed. Anyhow, my name's Lilietta, but Lily's fine. And I guess you kinda met Rosey." She smiled at me. "I'm her big sister."

"Hi, um, I'm Aidan, and I go to the high school down the road. It's good to meet you."

"You have a weird accent, where are you from?" She asked.

"Uh, Massachusetts. We moved here due to family problems".

"Oh, I'm sorry for getting my nose in other people's buisness. You're like, 17, right? At least 17, I bet."

"Uh, I'm 15. Haha." Why would she want to know?

"Siiiiiisssss" Rosey interrupts, "Can we go home now? I'm tired".

"Sure thing. Come on." She says to the little girl. "Oh, Aidan, here's my phone number". She said, putting a piece of paper in my hand. "Call me if you need anything. Or want anything." She said, winking. Duuuuuuudddeeee.

"O-okk" I said, a little lost for words. Whaaaat?

About 15 minutes later, I realised it had started getting dark. I checked the time. 5:30. I text my mom saying 'I'll get my own food. Sorry I didn't call or text, I've been busy. Don't worry I'm fine :)' knowing my mom isn't the worrying type, but just to be sure.

I heard that there was a nice café in town, so I decided to go take a look. And sure enough, it was lovely. Located in a rather picturesque area of the town, it had pastel blue-lilac curtains, an old-fashioned door and some square windows with large white window panes. I walked inside, inhaling the wonderful scent of cupcakes and coffee, and had a HUGE ham roll and coffee. Neat.

On the way back, after looking through some of the town, I used Google Maps on my phone to actually figure out how to get back.

I was almost home, but Google decided to be a biatch and make me go through places I hadn't seen, accompanied with weird street names and rowdy bar-goers, I ended up in a tunnel thing under a bridge. There was no one there, or so I thought, but as I went further along, I saw a small figure huddled up on the side of the tunnel and the sound of it/him/her wailing. And as I got closer, I used my phone light to light up the face of this person, who was staring back up at me. What I found was indescribable, somewhere between the lines of shock, pity, confusion and weirdness; For the person I saw staring back at me was none other than a red, puffy eyed Lawrence Stephens.
