Chapter 12, A Part of Your World

Yoongi's jaw tightened as he slowly nodded. What was bothering him so much? Wasn't he supposed to be numb towards you now that he wasn't your soulmate anymore but he was mad. God, he was so fucking mad. The only reason he left was so that he wouldn't hold you back and yet here you were. Some bastard managed to hold you back anyway because he couldn't help you raise his own daughter. He was mad because he wasn't here to help you and that someone named Taehyung took the chance and got close to you instead. But most importantly, he was mad because he still cared about you so much.

Yoongi felt excited as if he was seeing his own kid after ages as he took the gift bags full of toys out of his rented car. Just the thought of seeing Jiah jump up and down in excitement had him all in smiles.

He walked towards your place, his smile never leaving his face. Just as he rang the bell, he got nervous. Did he go overboard? Will you think that he's trying too hard to enter your life again? Will it make him look desperate? Wait, what?

Before he could second guess himself even more, you were already opening the door and facing him with the brightest of smiles, one that didn't reach your eyes at all. "Yoongi? What a pleasant surprise, what are you doing here?"

"Well, for one, Sarah and Namjoon kicked me out of the house to plan everything with you now that I was staying here for the entire month. Two, I really wanted to see Jiah."

The downward shift of your lips already told him that one of the two things weren't possible. "Well we can do the first thing, as for the second, Jiah's out with Taehyung right now. Sorry. Wait, is all of that for Jiah?"

You pointed towards the gift bags in Yoongi's hands and he nodded. "I was at the mall so I figured I'd buy her something. They're a variety of figures and I don't know what she likes but I got her a mini piano too"

You smiled fondly at him, not wanting to break his heart by telling him that your daughter wasn't into musical instruments. Last time you got her a mini drum set and a piano, she didn't even look at it twice. "You didn't have to do this, Yoongi but thank you. Wait, I'm such a bad host, I didn't even invite you in. Come on in."

Yoongi made himself comfortable on the living room couch while his eyes roamed around on the baby pictures hanging on the wall of Jiah while you held her in your arms. It was a beautiful picture and he didn't know why he was taking out his phone right that instant to capture it while you weren't looking. As creepy as it sounded in his head, it was just too beautiful to not look at all the time.

After you got Yoongi something to drink, you plopped down on the couch next to him and opened your notepad. "Okay so the wedding is in a month. There's a cocktail party that we need to arrange in two weeks so we better get to work. I'll handle the decor, you handle the invitations and catering."

"Wow thanks for asking what I'd like to do."

"It's not up for negotiation. Last time I got catering done for Jiah's 1st birthday and everyone was almost puking so that's a no go zone for me."

Yoongi laughed and the sound of his melodic laugh made you turn your head towards him. He had changed so much, smiling was much easier for him now and it warmed your heart.

"Got it. Wouldn't want to risk getting poisoned. I don't know why but poison reminds me that you and I are going shopping tomorrow. Sarah said something about choosing the bridesmaid dresses and I need to find a suit too."

"God, I hate shopping. It's so hard to control Jiah's extensive energy while shopping. Maybe we can take Taehyung along, he keeps her under control."

As if on cue, you heard the sound of the front door opening and in came your little troublemaker and the bigger manlier troublemaker.

"Behold, Queen Jiji and her knight have arrived to save your day. Bow down peasants!"
