They do as I say and lock all of the doors to the house. Once the doors are locked everybody scatters, searching for things that could be used as weapons. Glenn’s house is too safe. After grabbing all the first aid stuff, all the sharp kitchen knives, and anything else moderately dangerous, we sit around as we plan what to do next. Kate is still passed out. We have a moment of silence as we sit and listen to the Zombies outside. Grace is playing with a Rolling pin on the table. Suddenly the rolling pin rolls off the table and lands directly on my foot.
“Ahh why the hell would you do that?” I yell in Pain. I suddenly get a load of shh. I realise the mistake I’ve made. Then there’s a bang on the door. And another, and another. And moaning. Shit. The zombies now know where we are.We can hear more and more join the ones already at the door.
“Well we suddenly need to leave a whole lot Quicker.” Matt says. I get out of my chair and run upstairs. From the top window I can see the street is full of Zombies. And around forty of them are trying to break into the house. Crap. I run downstairs and start pacing around, trying to figure out how to escape the house and Zombies.
“Umm guys. Who here knows how to drive?”Epinder Asks. I stop and look at her. She’s holding a set of car keys in her hand.
“Genius!” I yell.
“Well, Kate does. I do too, but not manual. No one else does.” Rego answered as we look at the Car. Crap. I walk back into the kitchen and turn on the hose. I grab the other end and slowly approach the dining room table with a running hose. They look at me suspiciously. I spurt Kate in the face and she wakes up immediately.
“Argggh! Are you mentally retarded?!” She yells at me. I nod. “Kate we need to get out of here. And we’re going to go by car. But you’re the only one who knows how to drive manual,” Rego explains.
“Oh great.” She says. She gets off the table and tries to stand up. Only she falls straight to the ground.
“Stupid Leg.” She mutters. Rego and Epinder help her up.
“Great, So I guess you can’t drive?” Matt asks when she fails to move her leg properly.
“Could you instruct someone else how to drive?” I ask listening to the banging on the door get louder.
“I could try...” she says. “ That’s good enough for me.” I say. We all follow matt to the garage, With Rego and Epinder supporting Kate. Once we get there, we unlock the 7 seater car and Put Kate and Everything else inside it.
“Okay do we have everything?” Milmil asks.
“Me and Kane will see if there’s anything we’ve forgotten.” Matt says and he and Kane leave the garage.
“Okay. Who’s driving?” I ask. I look at everyone. Kate is in the backseat with Rego, and Milmil. Epinder is sitting at their feet.
“Well it’s going to be between you and Grace.” Kate says since we are both not in the car yet. Grace looks at me.
“You.” She says. “Me? I’ll kill us all!” I start arguing with her.
“Well why don’t I do it?” Rego asks. Just then a window smashes.
“SHIT! START THE CAR.” Matt yells.
“Lauren you’re closest, just get in!” Someone yells at me. Ahh crap. Epinder passes me the keys once I’m in the driver’s seat. I start the ignition.
