⋆        𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗕𝗥𝗘𝗘𝗭𝗘 𝗖𝗔𝗥𝗥𝗜𝗘𝗗 the screams away as the ambulance arrived to collect the now―dead power―hungry leader that ruled the sheep's land as if he were a wolf. The teenagers stood far away from the prying crowd, next to a willow tree, witnessing the entire scene. The sun shone through the leaves onto the ground, making it a magnificent sight, but it wasn't the right time.

Darling looked towards William, who stood alone, and she noticed his hands shaking out of fear. She looked at the others, unsure whether to approach him before deciding. Her feet walked on dry leaves, making a crackling sound. The autumn air flew through her hair, making it look like it was floating then and now. If the events had never happened, Darling would have taken a chance to admire the views, taking in the estate's beauty. Even if she did, she would still curse the name of Reginald Sparrows for building on the land. But she couldn't do that now, not without being disrespectful to the dead.

"Will? Are you okay?" Darling spoke, her voice quiet as she tilted her head to the side. She waited for William to respond, but Darling stepped forward with small steps when he didn't look at first. The action made William flinch slightly, not realising that he was spaced out and staring at the horizon.

"He was a shitty father; I am aware of that... But he didn't deserve to die like that. No one does," William said, rambling quietly as she grasped straws and tried to figure out what had happened previously. Darling stood quietly, fiddling with her fingers as she was unsure what to say. She knew William was feeling a mixture of emotions, and Darling didn't want to overstep any boundaries.
