Where It All Started Part 3

Ha? A-anong tingin? Ah eh... Ano ba yan, ba't ako nauutal? Ah wal... 

But before he could even come up with an excuse, someone called Scarlett. 

Scarlett, iha. Tinatawag ka ni Mrs. Solis sa office niya.

Ah, sige po. Susunod na po ako sa loob. Before she left, she gave Enzo a  questioning look. What was going on?

Enzo himself was confused. They were hardly called to the office, especially by the head of the orphanage unless it was really something important.

It could  only mean one thing...

and Enzo wasn't sure if he was going to like it...

 Scarlett just stared blankly straight in front of her. What they were telling her wasn't registering in her mind. It was just all in a muddle, a blur.

Scarlett, this is Mr. and Mrs. Velasco... Gusto ka nilang ampunin iha...

Excited na nga silang magkaanak na babae... Actually they're  very ready to take you home...

Nakaimpake na pala yung mga importanteng gamit mo... You're ready to go in a few minutes! 

Iha, hindi ka ba masaya?...

Di ba ito na yung matagal mo nang pinapangarap? Yung magkapamilya ulit?

Sige na makipagusap ka na sa kanila

Mrs. Solis, baka naman po biglaan. Pwede naman kaming maghintay pa ng konti.

Mrs. Solis lowered her voice to a whisper, but Scarlett could still hear her.

Mrs. Velasco, ito na lang po ang na isip kong paraan. Hindi po yan aalis kung hindi niya kasama ang matalik niyang kaibigan. Wala pong nakakapaghiwalay sa dalawang yun. Ito lang po ang natatanging paraan...

 She tried to fake a smile, but the only thing in her mind was Iiwan ko na si Enzo... Maghihiwalay na kami ni Enzo... She felt tears forming at the corner of her eyes, threatening to fall at any moment.

Enzo was lying down on the grass, waiting. Masama ang kutob...

Ang tagal naman, kanina pa yun ah...

Enzo! He heared someone shout his name.

He shot up the ground when he realized it was Scarlett being gently forced inside a car with her bags.

Hindi pwede...hindi pwede... Red! He stood there frozen, not knowing what to do.

But when the car's engine revved and car started to drive away he bolted after it. He ran as fast as he could across the garden to the parking lot.

Enzo! Scarlett yelled out the car window.

He saw her tear-stained face and that made him run all the more. Red! 

Breathing heavily, he chased the car out the gate of the orphanage and even till the road.

As much as he wanted to continue to run, he knew he couldn't possibly catch up  with a car.

Hananapin kita Red! He yelled back.

Soon enough, his body gave in, wasted and worn out from the sudden burst of activity. He stopped running and tried to catch his breath.  

Hahanapin kita Red...Hahanapin kita... He whispered as he watched the car drive farther away, taking his Red with it.
