Scarlett took another step. Enzo was so distracted by the beating of his heart that he missed his step and almost stepped on her feet.
He dropped his hold on her and shook his head. Sabi ko naman sa'yo hindi ako marunong eh.
Kaya nga po tinuturaan eh. Sige na.
Smiling, Scarlett reached for his hands. She held one and placed the other on her waist.
Dub-dub. Dub-dub. Enzo swallowed the lump on his throat. Ano ba tong nangyayari sakin?
They started to dance again. This time, Enzo was looking down, so focused on Scarlett's feet, following her lead. He didn't want to make a mistake again.
Scarlett watched Enzo and laughed inside. This guy in front of him was someone anyone wouldn't want to pick a fight with. No one messed with him. To think he was trying to learn how dance, amused her. He was just too cute and sweet.
Ever since the accident, Enzo became her everything. He is her protector, best friend, pati tatay at nanay pa nga at kung ano-ano pa. She was so thankful to God for him.
Wag ka sa paa mo tumingin. Tumingin ka sakin. Scarlett said laughing.
She lifted his face so that they would see eye-to-eye.
When Enzo raised his head and looked at her, something struck him.
Dub-dub. Dub-dub. Dub-dub. There goes his heart again.
The sunlight was hitting Scarlett's face. And it highlighted her beautiful features.
How come he didn't see how beautiful his Red was before? Wait...nope, that's not true. He always knew how beautiful she was. It just didn't strike him then than it does now. It was like he was seeing her in a whole different light.
Her silky black hair, that smile on her lips, her eyes shining an open window to her emotions. He took all this in, not noticing that he had been staring at her for a really long time. He realized that this person in front of him was someone he deeply cared about. What is this feeling?
The look in his eyes caught her off guard. She'd never seen him look at her like that before. It was like a look It was like he was looking inside her and she felt could melt at anytime now. It was so... so... Why was he looking at her in a way that...that... Ewan ko ba! She couldn't explain it.
O, ba't ganyan ka makatingin?
