Emerald Academy

Chapter One

I have finally arrived. I am surprised that I survived such a long car trip with my parents, who are taking me out of school and sending me to another school that is literally in the middle of nowhere.

I personally dont think that there is anything wrong with me but my teachers and peers dont seem to agree that I am normal and so my parents heard one thing lead to another and they decided to send me here, to Emerald Academy.

"Honey, do you have everything?" Asks my mother from the driver's seat of the car with her bright blonde curls framing her face and blue eyes staring at me intently.

"Yea, I think so?" I say looking down trying to remember the items in my bags."Wait. Dad could you pass me the charging cable for my phone it should be in the back of mom's seat?"

As he reaches over the seat his dark brown hair flops over making him shake his head to get the hair out of his hazel eyes.

"Dad you might want to consider getting a haircut when you get back home."

"Yes I agree," He chuckles "here you go."

"Thanks, bye."

"Bye." I wave as they drive off on the road hidden by a forest of trees.

I turn around and start to approach the tall stone mansion that is now standing in front of me. It has massive double doors, huge windows, 3 floors and to be honest it reminds me of a castle from the 1800s.

I enter into a wide hallway and am approached by a man in a grey uniform who takes my bags and leads me to the front desk.

"Hello dear, what is your name?" The lady behind the desk asks.

"Oh uh, my name is Darciana but you can just call me Darcy."

"Well Darcy, it looks like you are staying in room 29, here is your key."

"Thank you." I smile. I turn around and follow the man with my bags.

He stops at a door with small 29 in gold metal on the door, I put the key in the door and turn.

Wow, my mouth falls to the floor at the sight of my stunning bedroom. There are two single beds with chests in front of them placed on either side of an arched window with navy blue curtains and linen, there is a fire place on the right wall and a door on the left which I presume is the bathroom.

"Sorry miss where do you want these?"

"Oh, just put them over there thanks." I point to the bed in front of me on the right.

I turn around to see the door that I just came through with a dark wooden wardrobe to either side of it.

"Thanks again." I say as the man leaves my room.

"Welcome."

When I am almost finished packing my belongings into the wardrobe I hear a key turning in the door.

"Hey." A dirty blonde with blue green eyes says to me when she walks in and asks a new man to put her clothes on the bed to the left. "I'm Thea."

"I'm Darciana but you can call me Darcy. "

"Okay Darcy, is this your first year?"

"Yea, yours?"

"No it's my second year. So I'm guessing you dont know what the routine is here?"

"Not a clue."

"Well in about an hour everyone will report to the main hall for dinner and will get welcomed by the head of the academy Mrs Taggart and her husband, then you will be introduced to the teachers and monitors, you will then hear the long list of rules and receive a weekly schedule."

"Thanks I'd be so lost without you."

"No problem, we should finish putting our things away though, dont want to be doing that tonight."I nod my head in agreement.

I enter the massive dining hall standing by  Thea as she drags me along with her to the grand dining table that looks like it can seat around 70 people.

When everyone is seated I turn to my right and see who I presume is Mrs Taggart stand up. She has dark hair with noticable silver stripes through it and is wearing a dark red tshirt and black trousers.

She explains all the rules after introducing us to all the teachers and then asks someone to hand out weekly schedules.

When I receive mine I see that it says that we have classes from 8 till 3, Monday to Wednesday and then we get the rest of the week to do activities or just relax, then a list of the activities that you can do on Thursday to Sunday.

We eat then are dismissed after being told that we can explore before we return to our rooms.

"You can go and explore I will be in the room meet me there in an hour." Thea says before walking up the stairs and turning left.

I walk outside and sit on a bench and put my earphones in and start to listen to music.

A while later someone comes and sits next to me so I turn to look at them in the faint light provided by the lamppost. I feel like I know them but I cant quite put my finger on it.
