(A/N: In this Tony adopted Peter, but him and May are co-guardians of Peter. May lives in the compound)
In Queens, New York we have our friendly neighborhood Spider-Man flying through the streets and looking for crime. He passed by the library and helped a woman that was getting mugged. He caught a bike thief. And he was having a pretty good day. He aced his science test (as usual), Flash didn't bother him at all today, and he had just helped two people.
But of course, his luck had to run out. It was a Friday so it was movie night with the Avengers. May would normally join them, but she was in England for work purposes and she wouldn't be back until next Saturday. Fridays, for some reason, were when Peter took down a lot of bad guys. This Friday was one of them.
Peter was swinging with his webs back to the compound when he heard someone cry "Help! Help!" Peter looked down to see a woman wasn't calling out to anyone in particular, so Peter dropped down.
"What seems to be the problem miss?" Peter asked.
The woman looked utterly shocked and a little scared before answering. "My son was kidnapped a little while back. I payed the ransom and they were supposed to give him back to me today, but instead they just took him into that building right in front of my eyes. My son was screaming and the men told me not to call the 911." The lady pointed to and old building with a few broken windows in the top floor.
"First off, that was smart screaming instead of dialing. Second off, you should've told someone when it first happened. Lastly, I'm a superhero and I'm gonna get your son back. What's his name?" Peter ranted.
"Alex."
"I'll bring him back safely I promise." Peter replied swinging into a broken window of the building. The building seemed abandoned and Peter's spidey senses didn't detect anything, yet.
"Karen scan the building and tell me how many floors there are and if there's any activity on any floor." Peter commanded.
"This building has five floors and there seems to be two men and one child on the third floor." Karen replied.
"Thank you."
Peter crept down to the stairs and then he continued creeping down till the third floor. "Karen scan for activity."
"There seems to be two armed men and a small child tied up in a chair." Karen replied.
"Thank you."
"I want my mommy." The kid sobbed. Peter's enhanced senses helped him to hear the child. Peter's heart fell. This child probably wasn't more than 5 years old.
"Well she's not coming to get you!" A man said mockingly. At this, the kid started to cry louder. "Ugh this brat."
"She already gave us the ransom. Just put a bullet in the kids head." Another voice came.
"Right."
Peter then burst through the door swinging on his webs he kicked the guy that was about to shoot the kid in the face and the guy fell to the ground. "Why don't you pick on someone your own size, huh?" The second guy threw a punch and Peter caught it. He launched the guy backwards into a wall. "Karen initiate web grenade."
"Your web grenade has been activated." Karen spoke. And Peter used the web grenade on the guy that had tried to punch him. The man immediately was stuck to the wall. Peter, forgetting about the other guy that had a gun untied the child and picked the boy up.
"How old are you, bud?"
"Fwive." Peter smiled at the little boy. This kid couldn't say five properly.
"Come on your moms waiting for you outside, let's bring you back to her."
"She's waiting for me? The mean men said she wasn't."
"Oh no, she's been outside crying for someone to come and save you. I answered her call and came here to help you. The mean men were lying," Peter didn't have much experience with children, but he was talking to the kid like he had been babysitting for years. "Now come on let's go."
"Okay!" The kid said cheerily. Then, Peter's spidey senses went off. He saw that the man with the gun had a bullet aimed for the kid's head. Peter has to act fast. Peter used himself as a human shield for the kid and somehow the bullet nailed him in his lower back, right side, right above his butt. Another bullet was fired and it hit Peter in his left side of his back right next to his left shoulder.
There was the sound of more bullets firing but Peter never felt them hit. And then, he sensed it. A pillar was about to fall on him. He put the kid down just as the pillar fell right in the middle of his back. Peter groaned. The pillar was heavy, and along with getting shot twice, Peter wasn't feeling his bestpacito. The man with the gun came and pressed the gun up to the Alex's head and started his monologue.
"You think that you're so great Spider-Man, don't ya? The city loves you, Iron Man loves you everything is awesome for you. Well today, you're actually going to fail a mission." The man was about to fire the gun when Peter recalled that he still had web grenade active. Peter chucked it at the villain and it pushed him back caging him in a web wall.
"Okay," Peter said. "Now how do I get out from under this pillar," A light bulb went off in Peter's mind. "Karen, scan the pillar and see what it's made out of."
"The pillar appears to be made of wood." Karen replied.
"Thank you." Peter then put his hands under the pillar and used his super strength to lift it up and slightly throw it backwards. Peter ran and picked up the kid and jumped out of an already broken window, swinging on his regular webs that he reverted back to and landing on the sidewalk to a crowd of people clapping.
"Alex!" Peter turned and saw the woman running up to him.
"Mommy!" Alex cheered.
When the woman reached Peter handed Alex to her. "Here you go." He spoke as he gave the child back.
"How can I ever thank you...?" The woman spoke asking for Peter's name.
"SPIDER-MAN!" Alex exclaimed, surprising Peter. "Spider-Man is my hero!" Peter smiled his heart warming. This kid has just called him his hero. Peter wanted to cry and not just because of all his injuries.
"How can I ever thank you Spider-Man?" The woman said.
"Keep your child safe," Peter ruffled Alex's hair. "Spidey out!" He did a peace sign then shot away.
"It seems that you have some broken rib bones and two bullet wounds. Would you like me to inform Mr. Stark?" Karen asked Peter.
"No, I don't wanna bother him."
"Okay."
Peter then also stopped a bank robber, more muggers, and a car thief so he didn't realize that he was out an hour past his Spider-Man curfew, plus during the car thief Peter broke his left arm, which he also didn't let Karen contact Tony about. Peter swing back to the compound and changed into regular clothes. He went down stairs not even knowing that it was 11:00 pm and that the Avengers were worried sick.
