She went home and took a nice hot shower. As she sulked in the warm water, she thought about the man from the real estate office; her fingers lightly passing over his smooth skin, and how his lips felt against hers. Her mind wondered how he was outside the office... she quickly shook her thoughts and started to clean and get ready for this outing.
Lani walked into the club and was so happy to run into Jalen and Naomi. She spoke with them for a while before Naomi wanted to take pictures with her and of her. She took a couple of quick shots and posted them to her social media.

Lani usually made rounds throughout the club, just to get a feel of the place. As soon as she ran into Jayce, her direction quickly changed and she rolled her eyes. "I need a drink." She thought to herself as she looked at the bar. "Can I get a Sex on the beach, add an extra shot?" She asked as she placed $6 on the counter.
"Lani. Can we talk?" She felt a warm hand slide across her back. She usually felt a tingle when he touched her, now she felt the extra weight. "Jayce. Please leave me alone." She sighed, grabbing her drink. Lani just wasn't in the mood to see her ex-boyfriend, let alone speak with him. In her mind, she was a positive model in his life and he didn't appreciate it. He took her for granted. Deep in her heart, she wanted Jayce to do better and be better. He didn't want that, so it was time to move on.
"Ailani. Just fucking talk to me yo! What's the problem? And what the fuck you got on?" He yelled, getting a little physical with her. "Jayce, get your drunk ass off of me and go enjoy yourself. You're single and you should be out doing single shit." She closed her eyes. Letting his temper take over, Jayce snatched her by her arm, yanking her small frame wherever he was going. "Jayce! You're hurting me. Just let me go, I don't wanna talk to you!" She yelled in the loud building. Yomi noticed the confrontation and immediately rushed to help her friend.
Lani was close to exposing her entire chest, she had already dropped her drink, and she was more embarrassed than anything. "Jayce! What are you doing? You deadass causing a scene right now because she doesn't want to talk!" Yomi yelled as she grabbed Ailani.
"Lani. I'll be seeing you around. We will talk." He shook his head as he walked away.
"Yomi I'm gonna go. I'm too embarrassed to even go back in there. You have a good time." Lani sighed.
As she was walking to her car, she ran into Kofi and some of his friends. "Hey, Ailani." He smiled. "Hey, Kofi." She forced a smile. "You okay?" He looked around as he saw her stare off. Jayce was literally behind him posted on the wall by her car. She shook her head no and he immediately noticed who she was staring at.
Kofi
"Y'all can go ahead. I'll meet y'all in there." He said as he put his arm around her. "Who's that?" he asked watching Jayce. "That's my ex. We broke up six months ago and he's literally blocked on everything. I don't know if he would harm me or not. I'm just scared." She said quickly. She knew Jayce was watching Kofi hang all over her and she didn't even want to imagine what was going through his mind.
"How about this, you come party with me and stay next to me the whole time. I'll keep you safe." Kofi smiled. He looked down at her 5'7 frame. The way her top fit on her, really had him thinking about what he wanted to do with her. He quickly shook that off and walked back inside.
Everyone looked at both of them when they entered, especially Naomi. Kofi felt a slight twinge of comfort when Lani sank her face into his side a little. They both headed to the VIP where his friends were, and they all made sure to make her comfortable.
Kofi didn't get drunk how he usually did, seeing that Lani was throwing shots back. He told her he'd protect her tonight so that's what he was going to do. She got up to Big Ole Freak by Megan Thee Stallion and started to slowly dance with Kofi. He questioned how she was outside a business setting and he was enjoying the answer. Throughout the night, the drank and danced. Ailani hadn't let loose in so long and Kofi could tell.
Naomi
As the night came to an end, Naomi came upstairs to check on Lani and make sure she wasn't being bothered by Jayce. Well, if he was still here. She walked into Kofi's VIP room to see Lani talking to him visibly drunk. She wondered how they knew each other and if her best friend was getting some dick and didn't share the news.
"Hey, I am her best friend Naomi, and you are?" Yomi extended her hand out to Kofi. "Hey, Naomi, I'm Kofi Phillips, I met Ailani earlier today. She didn't feel safe so I stuck around to let her have fun in peace." he smiled. "Okay, he's cute. Ailani knows him, but I'm just going to check with her." she thought. "Nive to meet you. I just wanna talk with her for a bit." she politely said, pulling her to the other side of the room.
"Lani, you good?" Yomi asked with a smile on her face. She was overjoyed to see her friend enjoy herself after so long. "I'm good. Kofi's protecting me from Jayce's stupid ass." She chuckled. "Mhm okay. You don't want to go home with Jalen and me?" I asked, putting my hand around her back to support her. "No. I want Kofi to take care of me. Just look at him bitch." she laughed and hugged me. Yomi knew she wouldn't talk like that unless she was interested, and for her to say it in public was an effect of the alcohol. "Alright then." Yomi laughed. "Go on to your caretaker. I'll call you in the morning." She added on before sending Lani off.
She headed back downstairs to meet with her man. He was currently dismissing a woman out of his face. Naomi casually walked up as the girl walked away, and Jalen put his arm around her. "She's not coming with us, she has an appointment tonight." Naomi laughed. "With Jayce?" J laughed in disbelief. "Actually no. I think she's done with him for real. It's with a dude she knows." Yomi shrugged as they started walking away.
She didn't inform J about Jayce and Lani's confrontation earlier because he would've hurt Jayce for sure. Jalen wasn't too enthusiastic about Jayce. He felt like Jayce wasn't a man and he always got a bad vibe from him.
"Shit. Well good for her." he laughed before kissing Naomi's forehead.
Jalen and Naomi met in their freshman year of college. They didn't like each other at first, all they did was bicker. Eventually, they developed a thing for one another and now here they were. They were on the same page and they both knew that they were each other's person. It was only a matter of time before they took things to a higher level than before.
"J, are you good to drive home?" She asked as the valet pulled up their car. "Yeah, I'm straight." He said taking the keys from the valet and handing him a tip. She sat in the passenger seat and leaned her head back. Naomi was drunk, but functioning. She felt the car accelerate and couldn't wait to get home.
