yesterday felt real
your voice was sweet and fragile
knotting a shipwreck of memories
reminding me of your jokes
and that childish laugh
that lit up the torch in my heartyesterday felt real
under your familliar specks
chocolate brown eyes stared back at me
i could still trace the glimmer of light
the warmth of the sun
that touched my darkest partsyesterday felt real
there was a thread hung losely between our fingers
it tied the veins to our hearts
we both sensed it
through every touch and brush of skinyesterday felt real
your smile never faltered
it is like the sun and the sky
like your smile,
the sun will always promise to risei swear yesterday felt real
you still smelled like bubblegum mint
your fingers wrapped around mine
our legs pressed against each otheruntil your eyes shone a glint of dark,
you whispered,
kissed me to sleep
and told me
that
yesterday
was just
a dream.i miss you, love.
