6. The Task

At the hostel:

Riya:Dude jaldhi kar. There's a strike in the hospital. The MD wants to meet the new batch!

Sanchi:What? No way! Yesterday only our class started.. anyways what happened?

Riya:Some doctor played corruptly

Sanchi:And what about the patients?

Riya:I've heard that the serious ones are shifted to city hospital the rest are discharged.. I really have no idea but ya they are safe.. we have to go now

They both go to the MD's cabin with others

Veer:Crap! This had to come today only

Isha:I just wish we get 2 weeks leave because of this

Pragya:This isn't our school lady, to get leave on every occasion

Riya:Guys keep quiet.. something serious has happened.. why would MD call us?

Kabeer :Mystery!

Just then nurse Fernandez comes and takes them inside

MD:See students.. I'm being quite frank and straight forward. I know it's a very bad thing that happened but it does lie in your hands. I'm giving your first task of this sem.. do it for your hospital. You have to prove it to the media and the people that the hospital is not responsible for this

Sanket:But why us?

MD: Because you people are first years which means you people definitely don't know the doctor business.. so no one blames u.. secondly the class started yesterday.. so according to the policies we've to accommodate you people for the first year, you people are our responsibility..

Isha:I don't think it as a task when the hospital is actually not at fault

Veer (murmers):as if..  how nicely they lie

MD :I'm glad! So all the best all of you and ya you all have to stay at hostels for this. This is a big responsibility and a chance for you people.. we've chosen the best students.. so we hope you people won't let us down and during this time new admissions(patients)wouldn't be allowed in,  how much ever serious they are. Our hospital is officially closed.

Everyone leaves. Veer stays in the cabin itself

Veer:Chaachu.. now tell me.. what is the actual reason for holding us (first years)back?

MD :You are like bhaiyya only.. I thought you wouldn't guess it

Veer:Tell the reply Chaachu

MD:The reason is Pragya.. her dad can clear this problem within days.. so as long as his daughter is involved.. he will surely help us

Veer:Smart move!

In the lobby

Nurse Fernandez :Ya so all of you heard right?! Tomorrow onwards only you people will be allowed here by the guard and that too only till 12 pm and no coming out of hostels at night

Isha:Wow! Just think how much fun it's gonna be.. just the first day and we are VIPs here.. no seniors also.. hah.. we'll rule!

Pragya:Oi chup kar bewakoof! He's putting all the pressure on us and you are telling its gonna be fun

Saanchi and Riya walk to their room

Sanchi:So what do you think about this?

Riya:About what?

Saanchi:I mean the task given by the MD

Riya:Well I too think the same like Pragya. He is giving us the pressure. The government has allowed the first year students to stay back at the hospital by Anand Malhotra's request and for the reasons what MD told us.. so the board members will work externally that is outside the hospital and we are supposed to work internally as only we are allowed here

Saanchi:Woh kitna kameena hai na?!

Riya smiles

Riya:Pata nai but it's our college na so it's kinda our duty to clean this image

Saanchi:wooah! Responsible student

It's night 9pm. Someone knocks on the door

Riya:Who can be at this hour?
