I Thought I Knew You

Chapter 8

Avery's POV

"Harry, put me down!" I yelled.

"No."

"Why not?"

"Because I'd rather carry you all the way to the loft."

"But I can walk."

"I disagree."

"You think I can't walk?"

"I've seen you walk, and I know that you would be in danger of running into a lamp post, because you stare at me a lot."

I blushed. "I do not stare at you."

"Yeah you do. Frequently, actually and it's quite creepy."

"Oh whatever."

He laughed, and I decided to just give up and laid my head on his chest as he continued to carry me to his apartment. After a few more minutes, I felt my phone vibrate in my hand.

"Harry, my phone is ringing."

"So?"

"So it could be Addison." I was really praying it was. It's been really hard without her here, and even though it's only been three weeks, I still go to knock on her door before I remember that she's in New York. "Harry, please?"

He nodded and put me down.

I quicklyanswered it. "Hey babe!" I shouted.

"Hi!"

"How's New York?"

"It's beautiful, but I do miss London a lot."

"Well, yeah. It's cause I'm here, isn't it?"

"Obviously," she laughed.

"Harry, what are you doing?"

"Everything okay?"

"Yeah, Harry was just tugging on my dress."

"The wind was blowing it up."

"So? I have tights on."

He glared at me.

I just laughed and laced my fingers with his.

"How's everything going there?"

"I've gotten a few calls from this modeling agency, and they want me to do this photo-shoot for something, so I have a meeting with them Monday."

"Then I'll keep an eye out for the magazine cover."

I laughed. "I'm definitely not going to be on the cover."

"We'll see."

"When are you coming back?"

"I honestly don't know. I was hoping soon, but it might be a little longer." she sighed, and I knew she was definitely upset that she won't be here like tomorrow. "How's things with you and Harry? It sounds pretty good from here."

I looked at Harry and smiled, which he returned. "Yeah, things are pretty amazing right now."

"That's good. Are you guys officially boyfriend and girlfriend now?"

"Oh yeah! I completely forgot to tell you. He asked me.. When did you ask me?"

"Last week."

"Last week, if I would be his girlfriend."

"Awe. You guys are literally so cute."

"Thanks."

"Especially on the covers I'm seeing."
