I looked at the busy streets of the center of the city with Employees and students rushing for lunch. I have to go to the little bakery at the end of the street. Walking through the busy streets of the city alone didn't scare me anymore. My brother makes me do the shopping for groceries and other things alone. I speeded my steps as My craving for the cupcakes increasing every second. I looked at movie posters stuck to the wall as I walk when I bumped into a guy.

"Sorry" I apologized quickly picking his mobile which fell down.

" Aahana." I looked at the person. there stood Hammad.

"Hi," I said with a smile. it's been a long time since I meet him or any of them. I missed all of them.

He just looked at me shocked for a few minutes and slowly looked at the other side off the road.

I followed his gaze and saw him Looking at me from the other side of the road.

He stood there in his business attire with a shocked look on his face.

My heart literally skipped a beat. for some reason, I couldn't look away from him.

I don't know how much time we spent looking at each other from either side of the road. I came into senses only when I saw him coming in my direction.

I quickly handed the mobile to Hamad and got away from there quickly. I took fast steps and turned into small Alley just to avoid him. the alley leading to the next street where I immediately took an Auto-rickshaw to home.

I sat on my bed staring at the wall with a million thoughts running in my brain.

Aahana please open your eyes..

I'm sorry...

those words and the desperation in his voice still makes me wake up during nights.

after all that happened before and all that happened later, I can't bring my self to hate him.

Resting my head on the pillow I closed my eyes for a second, then I heard the doorbell ringing. I Looked at the clock, there is still an hour time for my brother to come for lunch. then who is that?

the bell rang again. I went to the door when I heard the bell for the third time.

Looking from the peephole I saw Karthik standing there. I quickly opened the door as i got used to Karthik showing up at our door. As he lives in the same city he shows with on excuse or other.

"hey. How are you?" he said with his usual smile.

"Hi. What are you doing here?"

"I just finished some work at the center. when I'm going home I thought of giving this to you." Saying that he handed me a box with the name of the bakery I love. I can already say what it is.

"Thank you. " I said accepting

"Okay then bye."

"wait. come in for coffee." I asked for formality. I can't really ask him to come in as my brother is not there.

"Some other time. when your brother is around." He smiled and left.

I closed the door and with a smile. I opened the box and grinned looking at the cupcakes.i took one out and took a big bite of it. I closed my eyes enjoying the taste. then the bell rang again.

Without thinking much I kept the box on the table and stuffed the remaining cake in my mouth and went to open the door.

when I opened the door finally, my eyes went around looking at the person standing there.
