chapter 15

he could feel his body pull itself closer to the elders, yearning for his touch

mark reached up to cup donghyuck's soft cheek in his rough hands. donghyuck closed his eyes and sighed in delight, sinking into his touch

mark coughed and retracted his hand, standing up and making his way to the door "we should go down for dinner, the rest of the gays i mean guys want to meet you" he said, sending donghyuck  what looked like an apologetic smile

donghyuck huffed at the loss of contact but joined mark anyway

the two resumed with their forgotten battle of dad jokes laughing as they entered the large dining space, the mouthwatering smell of various flavours wafted into donghyuck's nose, suddenly reminded that he hadn't eaten since school

he then noticed the group of males seated around a large table, sitting uncomfortably straight with unsettlingly bright smiles

mark sighed and lightly slapped his forehead "what the fuck you guys, act normal" he scolded

they all visibly relaxed, slouching into more comfortable positions with much more realistic expressions

donghyuck recognised johnny, ten, taeyong and yuta as well as some others he saw often when he was performing

he slipped into a seat next to mark, intimidated by the gaze of so many people

"welcome to the moon household," a familiar voice said

taeil smiled at donghyuck who returned it

"let's get you familiar with everyone here shall we" he motioned at the boys to start

the tall man that donghyuck had encountered before gave a goofy smile and put his hand up eagerly like a child, the soft male beside him giggling at the action

"i'm lucas but you can call me y- ow!" he rubbed his shoulder in pain, pouting and the smaller male next to him who was currently rolling his eyes

"you already said that yukhei" he turned and smiled at donghyuck "i'm jungwoo aka zeus this dumbasses unfortunate boyfriend, i hope we can get closer, we're all your hyungs seeing that little nojam is older than you"

"hey!" jeno protested, crossing his arms while a black haired male with a slight resemblance to a bunny hugged him

"i'm donghyuck nice to meet you" donghyuck replied, flashing a smile towards the cute male

leaning towards to mark he whispered "he's so cute"

mark grinned

"uh so hey hyuckie.. surprise?" taeyong said awkwardly while ten glared at him with a judging gaze

"never thought we'd meet you here" ten spoke up, smiling at him

johnny laughed, lazily throwing his arm over tens shoulder, allowing the smaller male to cuddle into it

"same here, you're still up for coming down to neo for your performances?" johnny asked

donghyuck nodded "of course johnny hyung"

taeyong scoffed "glad to see where your priorities lie"

"shut up twinkyong, go suck jae's dick"  

"maybe i will" taeyong retorted causing the ears of the handsome man next to him to burn bright red

"ah, i'm jaehyun nice to meet you" he said, smiling and showing off his deep dimples

damn, are they all just blessed with godly looks? donghyuck asked himself

"you know me" yuta said "i'm not technically a part of moon but rather a close acquaintance much like sicheng and your brother"  

the rest of the men continued their introductions and once they were done they broke off into their own conversations while devouring the food

jeno asked donghyuck for advice on how to woo his friends while still being smothered by the elder he now knew as doyoung

after they were done yuta left saying his goodbyes and made his way back to his own home to sicheng after letting mark know that he would be expected back at school next week seeing how his shoulder was no longer an issue

everyone else moved to their own rooms or to the lounge where the sound of lucas' laughter was projected through the vast space

donghyuck felt a wave of exhaustion come crashing down and said he would be going to bed, giving taeil a quick hug and a thank you and a shy wave to mark, pining longingly after his retreating figure

"whipped" jeno whispered before skipping off to his own room to plot out his next moves for "mission obtain renmin"

...

the light of the high moon shone through the window as donghyuck lay awake, unable to fall asleep after he had woken in the early hours of the morning

he always preferred to have his curtains open

but the unfamiliarity of his surroundings was preventing him from getting comfortable

he sat up, legs dangling over the edge of the bed, not quite touching the floor

contemplating his next move

silently he crept out of his room and to the one opposite his, silently knocking on it

he stood waiting, regretting his action but before he could leave the door crept open, letting light spill into the dark hallway

"donghyuck" a tired mark exclaimed, worried when he saw the uncertain look on the younger face

"can i sleep in your room tonight?"

also a reminder that jisung was only 14 when he led black on black making him the youngest idol to perform at mama, was only 16 when he taught a master dance class in LA, and became the youngest male idol to receive a daesang at age of 17.
