Expect The Unexpected

Chapter 16

"We're taking you to get a C-Section. They're not coming out quick enough." She gets the bed off the wall and pushes it to the OR.

Alex follows behind and gets scrubs on. He sits on a stool after I'm numbed up. After about 5 minutes, my doctor checks on me.

"How you feeling? Numb enough?"

"Pretty much."

"Okay. We'll start by making an incision, then we'll pop the amniotic sac and then get the babies out one by one." She explains it to me.

"Okay. I hope they're okay."

"The quicker we get them out the better." She goes on the other side to get ready.

"Babe, I'm scared." I start crying.

"Why, Jess?" He strokes my hair.

"That they died!" I start bawling my eyes out.

"They didn't die, I promise." He kisses my temple.

"We're starting, guys!" I hear the doctor say.

I feel pressure and then I hear the tiny cries coming from one of the babies. I smile like an idiot while Alex cuts the cord of that baby. Then I feel more pressure and then more tiny cries. Alex cuts that umbilical cord and then I get stitched up after they remove the placenta.

A while later...

"I'm so tired." I say to Alex.

"I can imagine."

I hear the door click open and see a nurse rolling the babies in. I smile and reach my arms out for them.

She hands them to me and I just smile and cry happy tears. I hand the boy to Alex and he smiles down at our baby boy.

I look at Alex and just smile at the sight before me. Alex gets on the bed and sits next to me, kissing me shortly after. The doctor comes in the room to check up on me.

"How are you feeling?"

"Tired and worn out."

"I can imagine. Now, you'll be going home in 2 days, gotta keep a watch on you so that you don't tear your sutures or staples."

"Staples?" I lift up my hospital gown.

Sure enough, they're there. I run my fingers over them gently, wincing at the slight pain.

"Do they hurt?" She notices my facial expression.

"A little bit, but not enough to need medicine. It's more like pressure."

"Well, if you start to have a lot more pain, just let someone know." She leaves shortly after.

Alex's POV:

I'm scared as hell to tell Jess what happened earlier. I figure I have to suck it up and tell her.

"J-Jess?" My voice cracks.

"Yeah?" She looks worried now.

"I-I-I have something t-to te-ell you..." I stutter.

"Alex, whatever it is, I'm sure we can work it out."

"Here goes nothing. Jess, at my appointment earlier, the doctor, um, had to, um, do a, um, prostate exam... he had to put a glove on and lubricate his finger and then he, um, stuck it in my ass... it kind of turned me on... what I'm trying to say is, I think I'm Bisexual..." I start to cry my eyes out.

Jess's POV:

I can't believe what I just heard. My husband might be half gay? I feel like he's just confused. I love him for whoever he is, but I mean, he's my damn husband.
