Little Angel

    My story of how my little brother, Tenshi, came to be in my family and made us love him, I was only nineteen at the time of the incident so that's why he wouldn't be my son. I felt I was far too young to be a parent to such an unusual boy so instead I taught him that I was his big brother. Since my parents died when I fourteen in a car accident, I just told him our parents are living a new life somewhere far away.

    I was out shopping for my apartment since I was running out of food. I was living in a large three bedroom apartment where my two friends and I stayed. Since I was the person more used to buying food, I bought food for the house. Leo worked at a small coffee shop and is more responsible when it comes to meeting people and school. Eric worked at a modeling industry taking pictures of celebrities. He wasn't ever really reliable unless it came to kids which since we didn't live near any, wasn't often. I didn't have a job instead I cooked, cleaned, and did my online classes for college. Leo was 24 and Eric was 23. I was the only one still in school and the youngest, but I didn't mind that. As I was walking, I spotted something just laying near an alleyway.

    An avocado? What's that doing on the sidewalk?

    Walking over I pick it up and dust it off. I examine it for any oddball things, but it was perfectly fine and looked fresh. It was ripe, and I felt like making some guacamole for the guys when we had tacos tonight. I gently laid it in one of my many bags and continued home. Once I got back, I got to work putting everything away and looked at the large avocado. I picked it up, setting it on the island counter while I finished putting everything away. I heard I crack and I swiftly turned looking around for the source of the noise. The avocado rolled a little, and I saw a crack forming.

    WHAT?!

    I nearly screamed as another crack formed followed by the sound.

    Oh God! Oh God! What the absolute heck?!

    I was internalizing panicking begging for this to be some weird hallucination.

   MAYBE I'M JUST ON DRUGS?

    My mind tried to rationalize than the egg burst open and... A little boy with wings looked up at me.

    "D-daddy?", The boy asked tilting his head.

    I shook my head and walked towards him. He stared up at me with bright pink eyes, his messy white hair, and his pale skin with white feathered wings on his back. I felt I had to say something.

    "B-big brother... Th-that's who I am.", I stuttered before I even realized what I was saying.

    The boy gave me a big smile showing off his pearly whites.

    "Name?", He asked tilting his head confused.

    "H-huh?", I asked rubbing the back of my head.

    "You have to name me, big brother.", The boy giggled sitting on the edge of the counter.

    "Name? Hmm... Well...", I looked at him as my head swirled through names.

    He stared at me smiling and swinging his feet. His small white tunic made him look like an angel.

    "Tenshi...", I muttered picking him up and looking at him. 

    "What's it mean?", He tilted his head as I put him on the other counter behind me.

    "It's Japanese for an angel.", I said as I got the eggshells on the floor to sweep them up.

    "Angel? I like it.", Tenshi giggled smiling warmly at me.

    "I'm glad... Oh crap...", I muttered remembering my roommates will be home soon and I can't get rid of this kid.

    He's all alone. I can't get rid of him! Maybe Leo and Eric won't mind? Oh, I hope they'll be okay with this...

    "BIG BROTHER?!", Tenshi yelled as I snapped out of my anxious thoughts.

    "H-huh? S-sorry about that...", I laughed nervously which just by the look on Tenshi's face; he knew something was wrong.

    "What's the matter, big brother?", He asked looking kind of sad like somehow he knew about the problem.

     Sighing, I relaxed, and I went ahead telling him the issue.

     "S-should I go?", He whimpered looking as though he would cry.

     "NO!", I accidentally shouted frightening him.

     "S-sorry... They'll understand though. Remember you're my little brother now, so I have to take care of you.", I smiled picking him up and walking to my room.

    "How about you take a nap and I explain everything to them?", I smiled ruffling his hair as I set him down on the large bed.

    He giggled grabbing my hand and nodded. I pulled out a t-shirt for him to wear. I looked back over at him grimacing.

    "Wings... I'll make some holes...", I said as I walked away from a confused Tenshi and grabbed my scissors off my desk. 

    I put the shirt over him and carefully cut holes where his wings could slip through. I pulled the shirt off of him and took his tunic off. I moved the shirt on him, helping his wings through the slits. I smiled and pulled away as he looked up at me. He suddenly jumped into my arms hugging me tightly.

    "Thank you, big brother." He giggled as I smiled and tucked him in.

    "You're welcome, Tenshi. Sleep well.", I smiled turning off the lights and walking out of the bedroom.

    I chuckled going back into the kitchen and started cooking tacos. Just as I was cooking in came Leo and Eric laughing. Quickly, I shushed them and brought them into the kitchen.

    "What's up, bro?", Eric laughed punching my shoulder.

    "W-well... There is this kid... I found him and...", I sighed running my hand through my hair.

    "Is he here?", Leo asked pushing up his glasses.

    "Yeah... He's got nowhere else to go!", I whisper-yelled.

   "Why didn't you say that? Let's keep him!", Eric laughed smiled throwing his arm around me.

    "B-big brother?", I heard Tenshi's sleepy voice ask and looked over.

    There he stood gripping his shirt with on hand, rubbing his eye with the other.

     SO KAWAII!!!

     "Tenshi... W-well...", I said walking over to him, picking him up.

     "Awe! He's a little angel!", Eric gushed hugging Tenshi who giggled, hugging him back.

     "He is adorable, but how do you suppose we care for him? None of us have that expertise.", Leo asked pushing up his glasses once more.

     "W-well we could do research... I don't mind if you want to put together a presentation.", I smiled knowing Leo will love doing that.

    "You can count on me.", Leo nodded as Tenshi squirmed in Eric's arms.

     Eric set Tenshi on one of the four chairs and played with his wings causing Tenshi to giggle.

   "That tickles! Big brother save me!", Tenshi called out to me.

    I quickly scooped him up and held him close as he giggled.

    Now that's how my little brother came into my friends and I's life. He is now fourteen, and we all still live together, but in a bigger house now. 

A/N: I don't know if I'll ever do a part two. This character is my OC though I did change his name and gave him wings for this story. If you ever read one of my soon coming books, then you'll see a character who looks like Tenshi, BUT that's because it is just with a different name and without wings. BYE!
