Stuck in a Box (one shot)

~Stuck in a Box~

It was dark, cold, empty. What is this place you ask? I don't have a clue... It could be something dangerous, maybe life changing. But i will never know because I'll always be stuck here, this never ending loneliness.

How long have I been here? You will never know.. How i got here? I have a clue...

She put me here, the person i thought i could trust, love, and cherish. But being the naive young boy i once was; I was wronged...

She betrayed me and i was so blind in love and happiness to see it coming. What time is it? I wish i knew..

It came again, that sound that i knew to well. The earsplitting ringing filled my head making it impossible to think.

Hands grip my upper arms roughly tugging upwards. "Keep a tight grip on that one steve, I've heard bad stories about the lad" the guard nervously said.  This could be my chance to escape, but i must be careful. They're foolish, but powerful...  Pitch black it is,I cannot see them, i can 'sense' them.

       "Put him there Steve"

I collapsed on what it seems as a wall. Shutting my eyes, I inhale deeply; waiting until the guards turned their backs to me. Slowly and carefully i pull my ropes to the front of me, descending off the wall striking one of them in the head knocking him out cold.

"Steve!" the guard cried

The guard attempts to grab me, but i was to quick, as he swipes the blade at my chest, he misses cutting my ropes instead. Foolish, giving me rope. Once freed, I remembered how it felt to eliminate my enemies. In one swift motion I sliced through the mans chest, loving the sound of his lifeless body dropping to the floor.

Rushing out the door I quicken my stride to her...

     I push through the doors, there she was, in all her natural beauty. Her long alluring red hair flows like a river to her waist..her fair skin fit for a princess. I almost was drawn back to my old ways, until I glanced at her eyes.

      Cold, dark, and empty green like that vile, spine-chilling place. Enraged I made myself known.

"Oh, well isn't it the all feared Zero" she sneers.

That wasn't my name and she knew it. It was a name all people used to fear, my father. She knew how much I despised it. Yet she tests me. Saying nothing I walked up to her and lowered my head to hers.

"I don't love you anymore. I put you in there for a reason. Do not kiss me, I'm happily engaged."

"Congratulations" I state, as I rip through her body, and wrench her heart out. She gasped and with a final breath, the life leaves her once beautiful eyes as she collapses. Blood pools from her body, never-ending. You think i should regret it?

I do not; she broke my heart and put me in that horrid place,  and this is the price.    Dropping the heart to the ground, I eagerly walked outside.

        This feeling of freedom,safety, peace, I savor. At that moment I made a vow.

"I will never go back to being the naive, romantic I once was... I Kace Richard..." I declared.

I turn from her and my good ways, my old chapter. It is time, for a new era... One that starts in blood, darkness, and cold...
