Song: Helpless by Philippa Soo from the Original Broadway cast of Hamilton

"Peggy?!" my mom called from downstairs. "Breakfast is ready! Hurry up before you go to school!"

Ugh.... "Coming!" I groggily got up and out of my bed and walked over to my walk in closet. I plucked off a creamy white off-shoulder crop top and pulled out a pair of navy blue ripped jeans. After I was dressed, I walked downstairs into the kitchen and snatched my plate of pancakes and bacon and I Start chomping down on my delicious food. A few minutes later, my older, senior, football star of a brother, Darren, appeared in the living room with his food.

"What up, dork?" he teased. "Ready for the super long hours of studying for tests?"

"Of course, why wouldn't I be excited studying for tests in math, science, and other subjects that have things I won't most likely use later in life," I snorted. I stuck my tongue out at him. "What about you? Ready for your SATs and college?"

He smirked. "Anyways," he said to avoid my question. I already knew the answer. No. "Brooke is coming with us today. Her car broke down a couple of days ago and she needs a ride." Brooke, one of the many cheerleaders, was Darren's girlfriend. They've been dating for almost eight months and they seemed pretty happy together.

"Okay," I said. I got up and took his dish. After I washed them, I ran back upstairs and grabbed my phone, my phone charger, my books, and my bag. Once I was done, Darren and I went to the front and climbed into his car. A couple of blocks later, we had reached Brooke's house and I move to the back of Darren's Jeep.

I didn't realize that Brooke had climbed into the Jeep until we started driving off. As we drove off, I turned arund to see if Nate Acres was behind us. He was. I couldn't help but stare at him, daydreaming about the possibility of us. But then I saw his girlfriend, Veronica D'Ivoire (yet another cheerleader) sitting next to him. She was even bitchier than Brooke nd that was saying something.

To stop feeling jealous, I plugged in my earbuds and started listening to Hamilton. Before I knew it, I saw the high school and I started thinking about all the friends I've made and what kind of person would I be like if I hadn't met them. All four of them are amazing. Colt, Aiden, Nicole, and Marilyn have been friends with me since Freshman Orientation.

I waved goodbye to Darren and Brooke as I walked off with my stuff to where my little group and I hung out. The Library. Yeah, we are nerds but we don't care. Once I was inside, I immediately started looking for them. As soon as I found them sitting at one of the tables in the back, I walked a little faster when I saw them look in my direction and smile. They all had books in their hands like usual and I sat down next to Nicky.

"What up girl?" She sang out. "How was your spring break?"

"The same as usual. I read a lot and Mom and Dad had to work so I stayed home. Dar was out with Brooke the whole time so I was at home by myself the whole time."

They all looked at me sympathetically. "At least you got to read. I had to be dragged all across America," Colt said dramatically.

"I was in Hawaii, and I saw some good looking boys while I was there," Marilyn declared coyly. "I almost made the decision to buy a ''snack.'"

We laughed at Marie's almost romantic adventure. Sadly, Aiden mentioned, "My great grandmother passed away so I had to go to a funeral."

"Oh Aiden, I'm so sorry," I soothed, holding my arms out to him. "Do you need a group hug?" Everyone else held their arms out and Aiden nodded his head. We all smushed Aiden with friendship and love as we stood there, hugging him until the bell rang. We slowly left one by one until it was just me and him.

"Thanks for the hug, Peggy. I really needed that," he said quietly. We were quiet for a few minutes before he spoke again, a little happier this time. "What's your next class? I keep forgetting everybody's schedule. Sorry if I keep asking."

"That's fine. And it's Art 3." I smiled happily.

"Isn't your crush in that class?"

I nodded. "Yeah. He's in there." On the first day, I almost had a heart attack when I saw Nate sitting in Mr. Stevens class. I never even realized he took Art.

"Have you ever talked to him?" Aiden asked. I shook my head as I looked up at him. A piece of his blonde hair fell in front of his eyes. "You should try. You never know what might happen."

Eventually, we had arrived at Mr. Stevens class and we hugged goodbye before I walked into my most favorite class ever.

~~~
The bell rings and I cram all of my shit into my bag before I walked off. I was almost out when someone bumped into me and made my sketchbook, and other art supplies fall out of my hands. I groan. I bend down and start picking up my stuff.
"Are you okay?" a guy asked. He bent down and helped pick up my stuff.
"I suppose."
The guy handed me my shit and helped me stand up. I looked up at him and realized that it was...
"Hey Peggy," he said. My heart exploded at the touch of his hand on mine. I couldn't believe he was helping me. A poor, ugly, unpopular girl who was hardly ever noticed by anybody besides my friends and family.
"Ummm....thanks," I mumbled. "For picking my stuff up." I couldn't look into his soft, brown eyes and see his luscious chocolate brown hair hang on his shoulders. He remembers my name! Squeee!
"No problem," he said. And then he was gone. Like he was just apart of my crazy imagination. I stood there, daydreaming. It was not until Mr. Stevens tapped me on the shoulder because the bell had rung.
"You have a few minutes before you have to get going," he reminded me. "Do you want me to write a note to your next teacher doesn't mark you tardy?"
I don't want him to because it'll take to long but I do it anyway. "Sure. Thanks."
Mr. Stevens walked back to his desk, wrote the note, and then handed me it to me. "Here you go. Have a good day."
"Thank you. You too," I said.
