Curtis frowned, "Do you think she visits when I don't brush my teeth?"

"Especially then." Jennie teased with a soft laugh as she turned onto their street, Curtis staring out the window with wide eyes. "She probably visits when you refuse to clean your room, she always liked your room to be super..."

"Clean and supreme." Curtis finished with a nod.

"Exactly. Speaking of, I could've sworn I saw some discarded underwear and spread out action figures when I woke you up this morning." Jennie hummed as she pulled into their driveway, pulling the car to a stop.

"I'll clean it up." Curtis beamed. "Can I have snack?"

"How about you clean up your room and I'll get a snack together for you?" Jennie offered as she turned to glance at the boy who gave her a thumbs up sign and a nod. "Alright. You get Cloudy out and I'll go unlock the door."

Jennie climbed from the Ford Explorer and watched as Curtis did the same before opening the door for Cloud, the brunette hurrying to open the front door right before her son and dog rushed past her in a whirl of giggles and barks.

"Don't forget your room!" Jennie called after his retreating figure.

He looks at me with those big brown eyes

He's got me in the palm of his hands

And I swear sometimes it's just like you're here again

"Room is done, Mommy." Curtis beamed as he glanced into Jennie's bedroom, the brunette smiling as she gave a small nod and finished folding a t-shirt.

"What'cha doin'? Are you cleaning your room too?"

"Kind of. I'm just getting rid of some stuff." Jennie explained as she set the t-shirt in the box and watched as her son hauled himself onto her bed before peeking into the box. "I thought I'd make some room in my closet."

"How come?" Curtis demanded as he reached in to pull a jacket from the box, his brow furrowing as he stared down at the dark material before he glanced back at Jennie. "Mommy, this is Momma's jacket."

"I know, baby," Jennie whispered as she avoided looking at him.

"Can I keep it?" Curtis asked as he pushed his arms into the sleeves that dangled over his hands, the little boy glancing nervously at his mother who gave a slow nod. "How come you're gettin' rid of it?"

"It's hard to explain, bud," Jennie sighed as she closed the box, the smell of old memories disappearing as she pushed the box away. "I guess I just need to get rid of some stuff so I can move on."

"Move on?" Curtis frowned. "We're moving?"

"No, that's not... that's not what I meant." Jennie said with a shake of her head as she sat down beside her son, her finger dragging across the familiar material of the jacket. "It just means that mommy is trying to put some stuff behind her."

"Oh. Does putting Momma's stuff in boxes help?" Curtis asked with a curious expression as he glanced up at Jennie, his doe eyes piercing through her. "You already got rid of a lot of Momma's stuff."

"I'm not getting rid of it, baby," Jennie assured him with a shake of her head as she rubbed at her forehead. "I just want to put it away in the garage, but if you want to go through the box you can have anything you want."

"Really?" Curtis grinned.

"Of course." Jennie replied.

Curtis eagerly reached for the box, the little boy pausing to shove the sleeves of the jacket upwards before he pulled it open and closed his eyes for a moment as he took a loud, long breath.
