The Awakening

"I'm moving" are the last two words I said to my boyfriend Steven and he didn't take it too well. I guess I can't blame him I gave him notice the day of if roles were switched I'd be pretty mad too.

But right now I am helping my mother take the few things that are left in our moving truck into the house. We have been at it for hours and I can't wait to rest. As we finally finish there's a growling in my stomach that awakens the thought that I haven't eaten all day. "Mom, can we order pizza? I am starvinggg." I say. "Sure, honey I'll call right now. What do you want on it?". "Can I have pineapples" I say this a little unsure of how my mom will react knowing she hates when I eat pineapples on pizza. "NO. Bee choose ANYTHING else," she says back. "Why mom? I don't say anything when you eat a vegetable slice like I don't understand it, it's no longer pizza once you slap all of that on it..like you might as well make the crust out of lettuce." My mom laughs back and finally caves and orders it. I can see where I get that from caving always eventually doing what someone asks of me.

I wake up to the sound of my mom arguing with someone unknown on the phone ...I finally piece it together it must be my dad they have been at each other's throats since he found out my mother was leaving him for a woman...yup you heard that right. I don't have a problem with my mom loving Eva she can love who she chooses to.I wish she just wouldn't have hurt dad in the process of it all. I finally snap out of my thoughts and look at the clock oh SHIT it's 7:00 am. If I waste any time I know I'll be late for school. I think back to last night and remember that my mom and I stayed up all night eating pizza and watching old time movies. I finally get my mind , my outfit and, and bag together. I head out the door confident in my appearance considering I haven't gone shopping yet.

During my whole drive to school, I promise to be more social, I don't want to be a loner the whole year. As I pull into a parking spot I take a couple of deep breaths preparing myself for my first day at Skyfall High School. It can't be that bad right. Walking in I have this feeling of safety, maybe this year won't be so bad after all. I make my way down the hallway while people are whispering and eyeing me like a hawk. This is something I am used to so it doesn't bother me much. I've lived in over 5 states since I can remember and it never gets better but this feels different. Even though I have high hopes for Skyfall Hills nothing could top the 3 years I spent in Virginia.

 Since this school was literally huge and like a maze to me, I was 5 minutes late to my first class which was Science taught by Mr.Handelmen. I walk to the door with anxiety pulsing through my veins as I open the door the room falls dead with silence and all eyes are on me."Oh new student I presume" Mr.Handelmen says. I shake my head yes not wanting to speak."I will excuse your being late this once don't make it a habit. And while your up introduce yourself to your new classmates Ms.Pierce" What I was praying for to not happen just did. I don't understand why he can't introduce me he's the teacher. I snap out of my thoughts and finally speak so this can be over."My name is Rosaleen Pierce I just moved from Willowick, Ohio and I am 15 years old." As I finish I turn to see Mr.Handelman nodding his head in the direction of my seat, I follow suit and take a seat. After about an hour of Mr.Handelmen babbling  about himself I come to the conclusion that he is a self involved ass-hole who I hope I can actually learn something from. He finally speaks about science..."So surprise, for the rest of your time here at Sky Fall's high your science partner will be the person sitting to the left of you take the rest of class to get to know them." Now realizing that I haven't really looked around, I turn to my left to see what my science partner looks like and... he is..hot..sexy..and every feature on his face is literally stunning. I would continued my embarrassing stare if he hadn't had spoken. "Hi, I am Alec." I was startled by hearing him speak and realized it was my turn to answer. "Hi my name is Rosaleen". He answers saying "I know from earlier" he smiles at the end making me smile. When the bell rings Mr.Handelmen stops us from leaving saying he has one more announcement. Eager to leave I sit on the edge of my seat waiting for him to speak."I think by now everyone knows last weekend we lost one of ours Madison Brown her body has been found and it has been ruled a murder. My doors are open during lunch hours if anyone needs to speak. Also please everyone be safe the murder  has not been found yet." With that he let us leave and when I left that classroom so did my feeling of being safe.

The following week, work from my teachers started to pile in. Also today me and Alec are meeting after school to work on our first project for Mr. Handelmen. As i look up from the drawings in my notebook the Lunch Bell rings. I thankfully sigh ready to endulge myself in my lunch. I walk down the main hallway meeting one of my friends,Luna who I met in English we have all of core classes together. We make our way to lunch as we are stopped when we hear Brandon and his friends/gang catcalling at us. Luna and I ignore them and keep on our way to lunch to hungry to even respond. As we eat our burgers and fries Alec comes to join."How has you guys day been?" he asks."Good I guess besides for the Black Spades catcalling at us." I say sarcastically. Luna laughs but Alec doesn't instead he says "Thanks for telling me, I might have to teach him a lesson." Luna and I fall silent then bust out laughing. Lena says "Don't, Mr.Alpha male it's not like he's targeting us he does it to all the girls even though that doesn't make it okay." I was surprised to find out that Alec was so much tougher than he looks. My friends and I ate, talked, and laughed. The end of the day is approaching , I am on my way to met Alec at his car but I just forgot where exactly he said to meet him. So i just walk to the back exit of the school to check if he is there. When I go outside I soon realize he must be in front of the school. I turn around to make my way to the front exit and I hear my name. "Rosa. Right?"I hear in a unfamiliar voice. I turn back around to match a face to the voice and to my shocking surprise it's Brandon the leader of Black Spades with none of his friends. My heartbeat instantly increases and my first thought was to leave, however I obviously didn't react on impulse. Instead I stood there and said. "Hi I am kinda in a rush so.." He buds in disregarding what is said replying"This won't take long." Without even noticing I am forcefully held down on the concrete wall with my both of my wrist being gripped way to tightly. My whole entire body fills with instant panic and anxiety as I realize what is about to happen. As I unsuccessfully struggle to get out of his grip I can't help but be angered with myself for being in the wrong place at the wrong time. He starts to use his filthy hands to pull down my pants and then proceeds to undo his belt as the back door opens. Tears are coming down my face as I am yelling for help. I finally feel Brandon's grip loosens and I quickly react by picking up my pants. I turn my head to realize Brandon on the floor and Alec on top of him delivering strike after strike I watch and finally ask Alec to stop.....
