Maddie's pov
I kept waiting for the pain, the blood, death, but it never came. I heard a grunt behind me and i heard a couple of gun shots go into the roof. I turned around and i saw Rodriguez on the ground and i gasped. I never liked him but now he was dead.
"C-carl?"
I said. He looked at my stony faced and i sighed. He practically yelled at me
"Your bit?!?!"
I bit my lip and i held in tears. I nodded and before i could say anything his lips were on mine and i was pinned against the wall. I heard myself let out a quiet moan and i closed my eyes then a memory resurfaced.
"Carl..."
I was panting a bit as i ran. I reached out my hand and i tapped his back
"Your it!"
I started to sprint away as fast as i could go. I saw a foot in front of me and before i knew what was happening i was on the ground and my bone was sticking out of my arm. I looked up and saw Carl's best friend, Jeffery. Carl ran over
"What the fuck?!"
He said words that i never heard a ten year old use. I started to cry and then i blacked out.
