First, thank you so much to all my readers! It's been a crazy journey from the day I started this story to now. Huddled Masses had less than 100 views when I submitted to the 2019 Wattys and somehow I won. I also had less than 10 followers at the time. I believe very much in this story and what it stands for, and this is why I've begun to query it. For now, the story remains on Wattpad. If (hopefully) the story gets picked up, I'll obviously have to remove the story from Wattpad. Thank you all who have read this story, and even more so to those who have given feedback, both positive and negative.
The New Colossus: A Poem By Emma Lazarus
Not like the brazen giant of Greek fame,
With conquering limbs astride from land to land;
Here at our sea-washed, sunset gates shall stand
A mighty woman with a torch, whose flame
Is the imprisoned lightning, and her name
MOTHER OF EXILES. From her beacon-hand
Glows world-wide welcome; her mild eyes command
The air-bridged harbor that twin cities frame.
"Keep, ancient lands, your storied pomp!" cries she
With silent lips. "Give me your tired, your poor,
Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,
The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.
Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me,
I lift my lamp beside the golden door!
