"Don't struggle." One of them hisses, I look at the ground, eager to escape them. I feel someone in front of me and I kick my knee up, hitting him in the perfect spot, he falls to the ground with a thud. I look up and the other guy grabs my arm again, dragging me around the car. I scream and he grabs my hair, pulling me close to him. "Shut up!" He pushes my head away and I feel my hair slip out of the bun, falling around my shoulders messily. He stops at the back of the car and pushes me against it, pressing his body against mine harshly. I wiggle an arm free and slap his face, causing him to grab my arm and twist it painfully.
"Stop!" I cry as he twists my arm behind me, I fall to my knees.
"Are you going to behave." He asks me angrily, I nod as I feel tears slipping out of my eyes and run down my cheeks. He drops my arm and I fall to my side, curling up into a ball. I let the tears fall and my small whimpers escape my lips freely, causing my body to shudder in fear and pain. I try to think of something else, anything else, wanting to get my mind off of what is actually happening. I concentrate on my breathing, feeling the rise and fall of my chest. I hear a car pull up behind me, I brace myself for more people I have to deal with. I only hear one door open and the sound of fast, urgent footsteps.
"What the fuck is going on!" My eyes snap open and I roll over, standing up quickly.
"Everett!" I cry, moving towards him. A harsh hand clasps down on my wrist and I jump, turning around and looking at the two angry men. Oh shit.
"Callie. What's going on?" Everett growls, I can feel him step closer to me. I try to turn around but the guy holding my wrist yanks me towards him, making me nearly fall head first into the hard ground. I gasp and catch myself, I pull hard against the guys hand but he doesn't let go. The other man steps towards Everett and shoves his chest.
"Leave." The man snaps at Everett. I watch Everett's hands ball up into fists. "I said--" The man starts but Everett slams his fist into the guys face, sending him to the ground. My jaw drops and I don't get a chance to close it as the guy holding my wrist lets me go and pushes me to the ground with a thud. My head hits the harsh earth and I let out a loud cry, my hand automatically cupping the back of my head. My eyes are blurred with tears and the spin of the world caused from hitting my head on the hard ground. I pull my hand away from my head and blink the tears and dizziness away to see my hand covered in thick red blood. My bottom lip quivers and I pull my hand back to my head, trying to stop the fast flowing blood. I prop myself onto my elbow and look around for Everett. I spot the guy Everett had hit on the ground, knocked out cold. I pull my eyes away and spot Everett and the other man a few feet in front of me, Everett has the mans head up against the back of the truck, yelling something harshly at him. I watch him shove the mans head into the truck and the man fall to his knees, grabbing his face. I blink slowly and try to ignore the loud thumps echoing in my head, I feel a hand cup my face and I look up. I look into Everett's homely green eyes and let him scoop me up in his arms, cradling me against his chest. I keep my hand on my head and try not to wince as I bob up and down with each step he takes. He slides me into the passanger seat and clicks my seatbelt in, closing my door and slipping into his seat a few seconds later. I close my eyes and listen to him exhale, starting his car loudly and driving fast. After a few minutes of silence I open my eyes, looking over at his white knuckles around the wheel. My head is still thumping and my vision is still slightly blurry, I'm too scared to take my hand away from my head and see alot of blood.
"You have to go to the hospital." Everett says, breaking the silence. Finally! I nod slowly and feel around my feet space for my handbag. "I got it." He says, reading my mind.
"Thanks." I mutter, sliding my sweaty palm along my thigh. He pulls into the hospital and parks just outside the entrance. I open my door and unclick my seatbelt, getting out of the car carefully. I walk next to Everett as he leads me into the hospital reception and tells the lady what I needed.
