First Element

Razer sighed as he walked behind Mark and Madrid. This morning he had woken up to find that Madrid had decided to pay him a visit and ended up bumping into Mark as he rang the bell. Soon they had befriended each other and apparently got along well; it was only when Razer had entered the hall Madrid remembered that he was there to meet Razer.

Mark and Madrid had set up plans to visit the Academy's Elements store and Madrid had included Razer in it without asking him. Razer however did not resent this much; he himself had decided to check out the Elements store today. Now he walked behind Madrid and Mark, a bag slung across his back bearing his Elements.

Razer had brought his HellFire and Water Sport, his recently acquired water Element: dark blue half-knuckle gloves embedded with nano Element chips. Razer had rarely used his Water Sport, he preferred HellFire to it. Razer would not even have bought them if his uncle Demetrius hadn't forced him too.

You can't fight fire with fire he had said.

Razer looked at Madrid's back. He looked excited as usual, he was going to buy himself his first Element. Mark's expression was serene as he answered Madrid's endless questions, he didn't seem to be annoyed or irritated at the least. He was extremely patient, Razer gave him that.

"...so, what's your favourite Element?" Madrid was asking him.

"Favourite? Let me see... I don't think I have any favourite Element as such." said Mark.

"Really? My favourite is metal, I was going to buy a metal Element today, but well, it is not allowed at school, the only Element we can bring at school is water Element. Razer you have a water Element uncle Demetrius bought to you, don't you?" he turned to Razer as he asked.

"Yes, it's Water Sport." answered Razer.

"Wow, I wonder what I'll take, what kind of Elements do you have Mark, huh?" Madrid questioned.

"I have water, metal, and electricity Elements." said Mark as modestly as he could.

"Electricity? I thought they were banned, even for technocrats." said Razer, now walking with them.

"They are banned, but I got myself issued an exception case and a license of course, by the Elements Tribunal." shrugged Mark.

"You have to get a license? To use an Element? Hey, I don't have any license; can I get my Element then?" Madrid asked, his expression terrified.

"To buy a water Element you don't need a license, there's an age limit though." said Mark.

"There is? My age is 16, do I get an Element then?" asked Madrid.

"The age limit is 16, luckily for you, you need a proof though, don't worry about that, the store has the whole Academy's students database, even the school's, so you will definitely get your Element today." assured Mark.

"You are forgetting something." said Razer.

"Oh?"

"You forgot about that underage guardian law." said Razer.

"Ah, yes, you will need an adult guardian to sign your Element bill, stating that they would supervise you while using your Element." said Madrid.

"Whaaaaat?!" exclaimed Madrid, "Hey, Razz, you will sign for me, won't you?"

Razer was caught off guard.

"There's no way that's going to happen, I won't sign on anything, your school must have an Elements instructor, ask him." said Razer flatly.
