The sun. That powerful ball of gas in the sky. That glowing source of light millions of miles into space. Who would have thought that one tiny burst of energy from something so far away could have the ability to send an entire planet in to Armageddon.
It only took one thing from us. A simple flash, stealing something from nearly every one of us. Taking something not one of us thought would be so vital in this modern world.
  Our sight.
A whole Earth load of people blinded in just less than thirty seconds. Entire cities thrown into anarchy, neighbouring towns racing for either alliances or enemies, once powerful people reduced to panicky shreds of their former selves.
Because what is a world in the modern age where no-one can see. Families isolated after their mobile phones become useless; factories and power stations full of people unable to see the buttons to provide necessities to their local towns.
An untouchable force only the eyes could process: enough to change the world as we know it. Although the next generation could see, the blind one before them could not teach them how to rebuild the Earth as it was before... that was something they would have to figure out for themselves.
