Kaiden p.o.v
I woke up this morning to yet another empty cold bed. It has been that way for 9 years. The average wolf finds their mate by age 16.
However, I'm currently 25, and what's worse than not knowing your mate? Is knowing who they are, what they look like, and what their voice sounds like.
A knock on my door causes me to properly get out of bed. With a simple 'come in' my beta, Carter, entered my room.
"Morning K, you have a free day today, you wanting to do anything in particular?" He asked flopping himself in my armchair that sat opposite of my bed.
"Do you even need to ask? What I always do on my free days." I said walking to my closet. My wardrobe mostly consists of black and greys. The only colors are that of my suits for meetings with other alphas.
"Of course. Why don't you just talk to her? I know it has to be killing you. Being so close to her." He said.
He wasn't wrong; it pained me to see her laugh and smile and not being able to be there with her.
"I'll talk to her when her father tells her the truth." I said pulling out one of my many black suits and ties.
"Ya, about that, He called earlier today. Said something about waiting until she graduates. He said He doesn't want to put her under more stress." He said getting up from the chair and walking to my desk.
My desk in my room was my little shrine to her, my perfect mate, her pictures were in all sizes of frames, from selfies she posted to school photos.
"What? That wasn't the deal, we agreed within a month." I said looking at him through my mirror.
"True, but that was in December, on her birthday. It's been months since then and every month it's been some excuse to not tell her. She's 18, and your mate, in my opinion this shouldn't have anything to do with her father."
Damn, what's with him and making valid points? He's usually never serious and always jokes around about everything. Her father wasn't only keeping me from my mate, but also keeping my pack from their Luna. Only Carter, my sister, and my gamma, knows I've found her. The last thing I need is my pack trying to kidnap their Luna.
"You know what Carter, you're right. That's why today, I'm going to introduce myself to her. If I had done it all those months ago, we probably would've been mated by now and happy. If her father is determined to keep her from me I have no choice, but to make a move." I said putting on my watch and putting my phone in my pocket.
I head out of my room, making my way down stairs to the kitchen where I knew my mom was bound to be.
No matter what, she always makes sure I have a balance breakfast, something about me being a growing boy.
"Morning mom." I said walking to her and kissing her cheek.
"Morning sweetheart, morning carter, any big plans today?" She asked as Carter and I sat at the bar. She began piling our plates with pancakes and fruits and meat.
"Oh, nothing to big, just visiting James' school today." I said as carter begins to stuff his face.
"Oh, really? What's the occasion?" She asked turning back to the rest of the batter cooking on the stove.
"No occasion. I'm just going to observe the classes, as a sponsor, I want to give him some good feedback and advice, but I would like to observe the classes and make sure that I don't turn out to be a liar." I said.
I wasn't totally lying, I would be observing, but not a class, just one adorable student in particular.
"That's nice of you son. It's good to hear you helping your pack. If only every young alpha turned out like you." my dad said entering the kitchen, patting me on the back.
