As we slowly crept down the steep stairs it sounded like the creature was coming back.
"Shhh, I think it's coming back." I said in the quietest voice I could.
"She is, be as quite as you can." Finn said as we got to the end of the stairs. We took our phones out and turned our flashlights on.
It was just a large open room. It was very dirty and grimy. We walked around and looked for a place to hide as the mostly rotten wooden floor creaked under us. "Do you hear that?" I said as I shined my light around the room.
"It's coming!" Finn said as we bolted for a crawl space he found.
I got on my hands and knees as I started to crawl in the little cubbyhole. As Finn crawled in I looked at my hands and knees and how filthy they were.
The creature slowly came down the stairs as my mom was trying to call me. It bolted down the stairs and followed the sound as I quickly tried to turn it off. By the time I turned it off the creature was 15 feet away from us. I peered out the side of the hole and quickly tucked my head back in as the thing turned around. It slowly walked toward us as it herd the door upstairs slam and quickly turned around to see what it was and left.
As we climbed out I saw something in the corner of my eye. I nudged Finn and shined the light on it. It was a red pentagram over another door. We walked up to it and as we examined it it had to have a six digit code to open the door. Finn and I looked at it for a solid 3 minuets. I made a quick movement as I remembered about the paper in my pocket the man gave me. I pulled it out and punched in the code 243540. The door slowly opened as Finn shouted, "You did it! But how did you know the code?" I showed him the paper as the door finished opening. We looked at each other then back in front of us as we walked into the room.
