Chapter 14: Salute

[Cue "Salute" by Little Mix. I'm thinking a Season 3 "Run the World (Girls)" feel here. Also, when it says Girls, this refers to Julie, Bree, Unique, Marley and Amity.]

The girls stood fiercely in front of them and they weren't the only ones who seemed determined. While Kitty, Shana and Harmony leaned back in surprise, confusion, or even slight disgust, Marley, Amity and Unique seemed completely on-board with the Vasquez-Welsh message, nodding along when Bree stepped forward.

Bree: Ladies all across the world. Listen up, we're looking for recruits. If you're with me, let me see your hands. Stand up and salute. Get your killer heels, sneakers, pumps or lace up your boots. Representing all the women, salute, salute!

Julie stepped in front of her, addressing everyone as Bree pulled Unique, Marley and Amity out of their chairs.

Julie: Ladies all across the world. Listen up, we're looking for recruits. If you're with me, let me see your hands. Stand up and salute. Get your killer heels, sneakers, pumps or lace up your boots. Representing all the women, salute, salute!

They led the others outside of the room and as soon as they crossed the doorway, they were suddenly all dressed in sexy combat outfits, ready for both a runway and battle as they danced through the hallways, attracting other girls to join them.

Both: It's who we are... We don't need no camouflage... It's the female federal... And we're taking off.
Bree: If you with me, women let me hear you say.

They walked into the nearest classroom, which turned out to be the one Carrie and some of her friends were in, having a mandatory tutorial.

Girls: Ladies all across the world. Listen up, we're looking for recruits. If you're with me, let me see your hands. Stand up and salute. Get your killer heels, sneakers, pumps or lace up your boots. Representing all the women, salute, salute! 

Carrie scowled as most of the other girls in the room stood up and followed the girls out of the room.

Bree and Julie: Attention!
Girls: Salute!
Bree and Julie: Attention!
Girls: Salute!
Bree and Julie: Attention!
Bree and Julie: Huh!
Girls: Representing all the women, salute, salute!

Back in the hallway, Ryder and Stefan watched from afar as Julie and Bree racked up more followers and danced through the school corridors. If some girls didn't follow for Julie and Bree, Marley and Unique were able to convince them.

Unique: Sisters we are everywhere. Warriors, your country needs you. If you're ready ladies, better keep steady. Ready, aim, shoot.
Girls: Don't need ammunition, on a mission. And we'll hit you with the truth.
Unique: Divas, queens, we don't need no man, salute!

Kitty, Shana and Harmony stood with the guys, debating whether to join them or stand back as they passed by them. 

Marley: Sisters we are everywhere. Warriors, your country needs you. If you're ready ladies, better keep steady. Ready, aim, shoot.
Girls: Don't need ammunition, on a mission. And we'll hit you with the truth.
Marley: Representing all the women, salute, salute!

When Harmony looked about ready to jump behind the train that had formed, Kitty pulled her arm, shaking her head disapprovingly and continuing to frown at the revolution that was going on in front of them. They followed behind, but only to see how far it led. Shana, particularly, seemed tortured between her loyalty to Stefan and how fun the number seemed by the time the girls were in the gym.
