4 months later...

I was walking out of school to my school bus when some of Elliots old friends stopped me.

"Ria, wassup? You ready for Elliot to come back?" Damien, Elliot's best friend, asked.

Damien was a great looking guy, same height as Elliot but was way more fit and also way more cocky; one reason I didn't like talking to him for long.

"Yeah, can't wait." I said, walking slowly enough to respond.

I picked up my pace and kept walking to my bus. I was trying to hurry up and get home so I could call Elliot before his Uncle got home.

About thirty minutes later I was speed walking to my house phone in the living room ready to call him. I pulled my jacket and shoes off, getting comfortable.

I sat listening to the phone until he picked up. "Hey moo!" He said brightly into the phone.

I smiled. "Hey big butt. How is everything?"

Elliot and I, out of the four months he'd been gone, only got to talk about seven times. His Uncle was more strict than we thought.

"It's going okay. I had to help my Uncle finish building that engine he's been working on and I had to help my Aunt bring in the new pool table downstairs to the basement." He answered tiredly. "They both went on base to get some groceries today so we can't talk for long moo moo."

I could hear he was sorry but I couldn't help but get mad. "Why is that I can only talk to you a couple times a month?! It doesn't even feel like I have a boyfriend!" I yelled frustrated.

I didn't want Elliot having some other b*tch there, occupying his time.

"Baby I'll be home soon. A few more weeks, I promise."

I heard a door shut in the backgroud and some muffled voices. "Baby, I gotta go help them with the grocies. I'll talk to you later."

"And when is later?" I said, trying to stall him to stay on the phone longer.

"Maybe next week. I gotta go baby, love you." He hung up without my reply.

I threw the phone on the couch and lied down, reaching for the remote.

The Golden Girls were on and I got a little happier. My favorite shows always tended to cheer me up.

I fell asleep, tired from all the school work I did that day. All of my dreams filled with Elliot.

It was two weeks later and I still hadn't talk to Elliot since our last call. And we didn't have any other way of connecting because we both didn't have phones, and I didn't like social networks at all... so we were definitely in a nutshell.

It was Sunday evening and I was reading 1984 for my English class. I was halfway through chapter three of part II when the house phone rang. It was an unknown number.

"Hello?"

"Hey Ria, it's me."

I smiled widely. "Hey baby! Oh my gosh, well isn't this a surprise!" I said excitedly.

I heard him laugh. "Well come to your front door and get another surprise."

I opened my mouth in disbelief and dropped the phone, running to my front door. I flew down the stairs and excitedly swung the door open. There standing Elliot.

Well I thought it was Elliot but my eyes and brain were struggling to agree that it really was him.

Inside of my head, I knew Elliot just called me saying he was at the door but my eyes.. oh gosh.. my eyes saw someone completely different.
