Chapter 6~ Return of the Gladiator

Start from the beginning

THAT'S ALL WE NEEDED TO DO?!

Yes, young Paladin. You KNEW about this?!?! Hmm, an entity that doesn't know its own abilities? You're the worst. Take a nap. For the sake of all of us. "No your mom." You mumble, pouting. The Black Lion rumbled, almost laughing at you. "What was that, (Y/n)?" "Nothing!" You quickly reply, feeling your cheeks burn from embarrassment. "C'mon, guys. Deform Voltron, and lets get back to the castle." Shiro says. You all silently agree on that, as Voltron jumps into the air, the Black Lion twisting back into it's original position. You fly the Lion back to the castle, not in any rush as the other Lions fly ahead of you.

"Actually... we'll join you later. I think I saw something, I wanna check it out." You say, getting words of acknowledgment from your team as you fly the opposite direction. You cut the intercom. What'd you see, young Paladin? "Okay, can you please stop with the 'young Paladin' stuff? You're making yourself seem old. And I don't wanna be formal with a mechanical Lion." You state, flying over to where the Robeast first landed. Dang, okay (Y/n). The Black Lion responds. So, where are we going exactly?

"Well, Sendak's crashed warship. I don't think Pidge grabbed her flash drive before Shiro stole her." You explain. Oh, well that's nice of you. "Yea, yea." You mutter, trying to seem like you don't really care since Black said you needed a nap. Don't get it wrong, you DESPERATELY needed a nap, but you never point that out to someone, ESPECIALLY not a female.

You land the Black Lion on the outskirts of the wreckage. "Stay here, I'll be back in less than ten minutes." What else would I do? "You're very smart-mouthed today." Like Lion like young Paladin. "I thought we agreed to stop that!" You whine as you get out of the seat. The Black Lion lowers it's head and lets you walk out. Once on the ground, you activate your jetpack, flying into the wrecked ship. The place was dark and messy, and there were only a few traces that anyone had been here in the last couple days. There were footprints outlined in dust on the floor, looking about the size of Pidge's foot. You activated your jetpack and followed the footprints.

A few seconds later, you end up in a big control room. The big screens had cracks in them, the floor was littered in dust and bugs, dried blood staining everything else. The ceiling wasn't even a ceiling- just a bunch of criss-crossings beams. You look around, before spotting something that looks like a grey circle. You pick it up, and look at it. It was plain grey, one side was rounded, one side was flat. You look at your arm. Her flash drive was part of her suit. You think, trying to find the match on your suit.

You turn your arm over, and to your luck, a matching circle was there, on the back of your wrist. Smiling, you tightly hold onto it, activating your jetpack, and fly out of there. You land in front of the Black Lion, who lets down the particle barrier and allows you to climb inside. Find it? "Pretty sure this is it." Your respond, putting it in a compartment on the dashboard. You grip the joysticks and fly off, heading back towards the castle.

As you were about to circle the castle, the Black Lion suddenly nose dived downwards, towards the entry way. "Black?! What're you-" You start to panic as the Lion gets ever closer to the ground, when the Lion pulls up and lands. "What? Why are we-" Pidge and Shiro are here. I can get to the hangar. "Oh.. thanks Black." You're welcome... Young Paladin. "BLACK I SWEAR TO GOD-" you scold your Lion, when suddenly, the Lion practically spits you out, you landing on the ground with the flash drive. The Black Lion flies away towards the castle. "That Lion I swear-"

"(Y/n)?" You turn around to see Pidge and Shiro sitting on the ledge, looking at you. "Oh heeyyyyyy.. am I interrupting something?" You ask, taking off your helmet and nervously scratching the back of your head. "Nope. What brings you here?" Shiro asks. You walk over to them and sit next to Pidge on the ledge. "Well, actually, I went back to Sendak's warship that crashed. I wanted to find this." You say, holding the drive out to Pidge. "What is it?" She asks, taking it from you. "It's your flash drive. The one you were downloading information on about your brother and father?" You reply, but it turns into more of a question. "(Y/n).." she mutters, inspecting it.

"That flash drive is still in my suit. What is this?"

It's not her drive? "But it matches my drive perfectly?" You say, showing her your paralleled drive. Pidge quickly takes your flash drive out, replacing it with the one you found. A screen instantly pops up, showcasing a bunch of unreadable paragraphs and a bunch of numbers at the top. "Wait. These are coordinates." Pidge points to the numbers on the screen. She reads them a bit more, before her eyes widen. "These are the castle's coordinates!" She exclaims nervously. You furrow your eyebrows. "So?" You ask, not understanding.

"They knew we were here the whole time." She points out. Your eyes widen in shock as well. "They did have 10,000 years to search for us." Shiro mutters under his breath. "And now who knows how many people have these coordinates!" "We have to get out of here, we're putting Arus in danger!" You and Pidge agree. "Let's get inside and talk to Allura about it." Shiro decides. You and Pidge nod and you all get up, heading towards the castle.

Your walking slows to a stop before the big doors of the castle. Pidge and Shiro briskly walk on, in a conversation. As you look at the sun, setting over the green hills of Arus, the danger of the situation starts to settle in.

You're not fit to be an anime character, fighting until the war is over. You sit on the couch and watch those anime characters. There's a chance you might not make it out alive because of that. There's a chance you might not make it out at all.

But as the sun sets over the village, you can't help but have a little reassurance, that maybe, just maybe, you'll live to see it through.
