Warped! {A Voltron Reader Insertion}

Chapter 6~ Return of the Gladiator

"Check this out! Battle-Lion head-butt!" Hunk yells over the intercoms, then rams into the Robeast, knocking it forwards. "Nice going!" "Did either of you get hurt?" Keith asks. "We're still alive, if that's what you're asking. But yes, we're fine." "Thanks to (Y/n) saving my butt." Pidge calls through the intercoms as the Green Lion and Shiro's fighter jet join the battle. "You're welcome, but let's take out the trash first!" You say back, charging at the Robeast and knocking it backwards like Hunk had.

"Are the Galra behind this?" "I think so, but I've never seen anything like it." "So, what's the plan? Shoot at it with everything we've got? Take out its weapon? Call it names?" "Call it names?" "It works with bullies." "I don't think it'll work in this scenario, but nice thought buddy." You respond to Lance's ideas. "But I think we all know what we have to do. Shiro, Cover us." "On it!" "Form Voltron!" You yell.

The Black Lion seems to move on its own as it leads the other Lions into the air, contorting and twisting into the head and torso of Voltron. The other Lions click into place around you as you feel a new found energy within you. "Remember, as Lions we're a team, but as Voltron we are one unit, with one goal." "LETS KICK BUTT!" Lance yells. "Yea, that's too." You add.

Voltron charges forward at your control, fists out in front and ready to go hand-to-hand combat with the Robeast. However, before you could actually engage in combat, the Robeast shoots it's orb at you, making you swerve to the circle around it. The Keith pushes the Red Lion forward, attempting to punch the Robeast, but the beast catches the punch with its arm. Pidge comes charging in, successfully upper cutting the beast. The Gladiator stumbles backwards, onto some dunes. Hunk and Lance kick off the ground, making Voltron jump high into the air. The Red and Green Lions raise, ready to smash down into the Robeast and finish the battle.

But just before they could deliver a final blow, the Robeast raised its arm, blocking the attack. Voltron pushes against it, but the Robeast just looks away, and spins its arm. You knew what that meant. The Robeast moves out of the way. "ORB!" "Orb?" "MOVE!" You cut off Hunk, and make Voltron back step, barely missing the blow. "How'd you-" "No time to talk- ORB!" You cut off Pidge as the Robeast throws the orb towards you again. The Blue and Yellow Lions activate their jetpacks, barely hovering off the ground. Voltron swerves to the right, barely dodging it. But the Orb came back, hitting Voltron square in the back, causing you to scream slightly at the pressure and electric shock.

"Are you all okay?!" "I thought Voltron was the most powerful weapon in the universe!" "Yeah, so how is this monster kicking our butts?!" Shiro, Keith, and Hunk ask over the intercoms. You watch the orb, as it goes around the Robeast, and- "ROBEAST-" Hunk calls, a bit too late as Voltron was hit by the Gladiator, and sent flying over a nearby hill, and the village was in view.

"The village! Stay away from the village! Protect those people!" Shiro exclaims, shooting at the Robeast from behind, dealing no damage, but a great distraction as the Robeast turns around. Relieved, Voltron stands up, just to see the orb on a collision course for the village. Voltron quickly stands up and takes the hit, and you hiss in pain. The Robeast turns back to you all, collecting it's orb.

Voltron takes off into the sky, and thankfully, the Gladiator follows. "That was close!" Shiro exclaims, flying up to where Voltron was. "We got him away from the Arusians, but we can't take him down!" Pidge points out, making you groan in response. "I got it! I'm going to power-kick that orb thing!" Lance exclaims, making your eyes widen. "No! That won't work!" "The last time you did a kick, we fell!" Keith adds to your point.

"Stop living in the past!" Lance complains, leading Voltron by the foot towards the energy orb, letting out some kind of war cry. The orb barely misses Lance foot, and is aimed right towards you. "Oh no!" Lance quickly exclaims, as your eyes widen and teeth clench. The pressure hits Voltrons head, where you were. You let out a shriek of pain as you bang your head hard against the back of your chair. You open your eyes to blurriness, but to can make out the sight of the ground, which meant you were knocked out of the air, which explains the worsened impact. "-ay?! (Y/n), do- opy?! (Y/n)?!" "Lance you- knocked out- our leader!" "-Sorry!" "I'm here team." You say, grasping the joy sticks once again. "Blurry vision, but being alive is an achievement in itself." You mumble.
