Chapter 6~ Return of the Gladiator

Suddenly, you hear a rumbling. You look around to look for the cause of the shaking. "Look up." Keith says, shading his eyes with his hand and looking into the sky. You copy him, and see a meteor coming in hot towards Arus. "A meteor." "No. A ship. And it doesn't look friendly." Keith points out. You squint at it a bit more, when you realize, it's grey and purple. Galra...

"We gotta get back. Lets go." You say, running towards the way Keith carried you from. After a minute of running, the shaking gets harder, knocking you off your feet. You quickly get back up and run after Keith, who was now very far ahead of you. You see a pit where the Sendak's warship crashed. Shiro and Pidge! You mentally scream, changing your running path and going towards the fallen ship. You wish you had your helmet so you could communicate with them.

"Team, come in! We need backup!" You hear Shiro yell in his helmet as you see him holding Pidge, jumping and climbing to get out of the pit. "Pidge! Shiro! We gotta go!" You yell to them. "Hello?!"

"Shiro?" You hear Allura answer through Shiro's helmet. "Where is everyone?!" Shiro asks. "What's going on?! When did I lose (Y/n)?!" You hear Keith join. "She's here with me." Shiro responds. The incoming Gales spacecraft causes the rumbling to grow more aggressive.

"WE GOTTA GO." You say, activating your jetpack, and grabbing onto Shiro and Pidge. "No! Let me go! My family!" Pidge screams, desperately squirming for you and Shiro yo let go. "I'm sorry, Pidge!" You yell, your jetpack boosting you all forward. Shiro looks up at the ship, and his eyes widen. "The ship is on a collision course with the wreckage!" "Just hold on!" You yell back at Shiro's observation, trying to hold Shiro and Pidge and trying to speed up.

"We're not gonna-" BOOM. You hear the collision go off behind you, making you drop Pidge and Shiro and deactivating your jet pack. You skid across the ground on your side, eyes squeezed shut. But that's all the harm that comes to you. No fiery explosions, no getting blown to bits. "(Y/n)!" You hear Shiro call out to you. You groan and open your eyes, your arm feeling the impact of skidding across the hard, gravely ground. "I'm okay." You mumble when Shiro turns you over. "Come on." Shiro says, pulling you up. You look up to see the Black and Green Lions looming over you. Greetings, Black Paladin.

"I didn't know they could do that!" Pidge exclaims. Suddenly, the Galra spacecraft starts up, revealing a giant gladiator. "Uh, Shiro?! (Y/n)?!" "Get in your Lion! Shiro, go with Pidge!" You yell as your make a break for the Black Lion, who immediately scoops you up and takes off.

You land in a chair, your helmet landing in your arms, and slide forward. You immediately grab the joy sticks that lights the cockpit up purple afterwards. Are you okay, Paladin? "Fine, little scratched and bruised, but we have bigger things on our hands." You mumble back to your Lion.

The Gladiator immediately tries to attack you. You swerve out of the way of the Robeast's energy orb. The Green Lion opens it's mouth and fires it's cannon. "Paladins! Come in Paladins! Get over here! It's bad!" "On our way (Y/n)!" "Hang in there!" You hear Hunk and Lance communicate back. Pidge tries to fire at the incoming orb with the Green Lion's mouth canon. The orb goes up in smoke, but continues to go right towards her. "Woah!" Pidge yells as the Green Lion gets hit with the orb, causing it to spiral downwards and land on the ground. The gladiator goes to crush the Green Lion, but you quickly maneuver the Black Lion and scoop up the Green Lion in it's jaws, running along the surface before jumping up again. You release the Green Lion from your Lion's jaws. "Thanks (Y/n)" you hear Shiro say, to which you him in response.

"We're here!" You hear Keith exclaim. "Good! Give the Green Lion some cover fire so she can get outta here. Pidge, get Shiro to the Castleship for his fighter jet!" "Got it!" "Alright, leaving now!" Lance and Pidge respond, the Green Lion flying away as the Red Lion fires it's mouth canon, and the Blue Lion fires it's tail canon. You fly around the Gladiator, activating and firing the Black Lion's mouth canon.
