Ayah Carter was a 16 year old who had it all. Literally. Growing up on the north side of Philadelphia, Ayah's parents gave her everything she wanted because her dad was a Sargent in the military and her mom worked at the Philadelphia airport. She was spoiled but that didn't get in the way of her character. Ayah was a bright spirited, caring, and courageous girl who sometimes cared more about other people than herself. She considered it a curse and a blessing. Ayah's personality wasn't the only beautiful thing about her though. She was short and thick with a blazing red, curly afro. She was mixed with Puerto Rican and black but she only spoke a little Spanish. Ayah had big pink lips and an hour glass figure. All the girls wanted to be her and all the boys wanted to be her boyfriend. She attended Rhodes High School and everyone liked her but she only had two best friends, Daysha and Corrine. Daysha was a junior and she was pregnant by her boyfriend Andre, who was a senior. Her and Ayah knew each other since they were in second grade and never separated since. Corrine was a sophomore like Ayah and she was gay. Her girlfriend, Imani, who was Andre's sister, was a junior. Corrine and Ayah had been friends for almost three years and were closer than ever. Neither of the girls ever got into a fight or argument with each other and always had each other's backs.
Monday
"Come on Corrine, we're going to miss the bus." Daysha yelled. Daysha and Corrine always met up at the bus stop to ride down to Ayah's stop and pick her up so they could all ride to school together. When Ayah got on the bus she walked to the back where her friends were sitting. "Hey girl. You look so cute today." Corrine said to Ayah. "Oh, thanks boo." Ayah replied. "Where do yall wanna go this weekend? We are not sitting in the crib again. That's chalked." Daysha said, looking out the bus window kind of annoyed. "Bitch, what's wrong with you?" Ayah asked, with a stank face. "My fault yall, I just didn't have a good morning."Daysha replied, sounding sad and frustrated. "Well what happened?" Ayah and Corrine asked almost simultaneously. "Kenneth hit me again." She said, beginning to tear up. Kenneth was her mom's boyfriend. He always abused Daysha and her mom, but her mom always forgave him." Ayah looked at her friend with tears in her eyes and whispered, "We need to kill that nigga." Corrine looked at Ayah with wide eyes and whispered back, "Kill?!" Ayah looked at Daysha and said, "I know what we're doing this weekend." The girls arrived at the school at around 7:45 and breakfast was almost over. They rushed into the cafeteria to pick up breakfast before heading to their lockers. Once they got to their lockers Andre and Imani walked up.
"Hey Baby." Andre said, putting his arm around Daysha and rubbing her stomach. "Who me or the actual baby?" Daysha joked. "Both of yall, crazy" Dre added with a smile on his face. Andre was a tall, darkskin nigga with dreads. He had tattoos everywhere and he always wore Nike or Puma sweat suits with fresh buttahs (Timbs) and a skully to match whatever color he had on that day. Today he had on a red puma sweat suit and a red skully. "You look sexy baby, as always." Daysha smiled and winked at Andre as she said it. "Thank you Baby, but you know you always look good, My queen." At this point Dre was grabbing Daysha's ass and licking his lips. "Okay, Okay. That's enough PDA. Get to class!" They all turned around to see Mr. Medley standing outside of his classroom with a stern look on his face. "Come on babe." Imani told Corrine, and everyone else went their separate ways.
The bell finally rung for the end of the day and the girls met up in the school yard. Everyone was there except for Daysha. "Have yall seen Day?" Dre said, walking up to the group of girls. "Naw, I thought she was with you." Ayah said, now looking concerned. "Maybe she went home early?" Corrine added, trying to think of any positive explanation, still unsure herself. "Naw, Day would have said something to me about it. She know how I am." Dre said, starting to get worried. Out of nowhere, they see Daysha running around the corner toward the school. From where they were standing they couldn't make out what they saw on her face. "IS THAT BLOOD COMING FROM HER STOMACH!?" Imani screamed.
