The Battle for New York City

The Prologue

This is where it all started.

(Clover's POV)

     I'm from Boston, Massachusetts and it's getting close to midnight. I've been on my laptop since 8:30 PM and the time is now 11:45 PM. I begin to yawn a few times every 5 minutes and I decide to go to bed. I close my laptop, put it on the charge, put my night time clothes on, and get in bed. 4 hours pass and the time is 3:45 AM. All of a sudden, I shoot my eyes open due to the sound of violent banging coming from outside and I take a few steps towards my door, and then the sound of my parent's door slams onto the hardwood floor making an echo go through whole entire house. My room is located upstairs, I hear the sound of heavy footsteps heading to the room where my parents sleep, I hear the yelling and screaming coming from my parents as the voices of robots start talking to my parents as they take them out of the house, that's when I pack my stuff that I need the most including clothes, my electronics and chargers that go with them, and my car keys. I run to my car and start putting my things in the backseat. I drive to the house that is across from mine where my best friend Mona lives in. I'm absolutely shocked at what I'm seeing with my own eyes. I see that Mona's door has been busted down and it's laying on the hardwood floor with some pieces of the door laying on the floor. I hear the faint sound of crying coming from the basement and I go to investigate. I open the door to the basement and see that Mona is sitting on the floor with her back against the wall. I run over to her and kneel down beside her. "Mona! You're okay!" I said, having a slight amount of relief about the 2 of us being okay.

(Mona's POV)

     I've just witnessed something absolutely terrifying and now I'm scared to death as much as Clover. Clover found me in the basement and I'm just glad that the both of us are okay. "Y-yeah. I-I can't b-believe what I just s-saw with my own e-eyes." I said with a few more tears streaming down my cheeks. "We need to get out of this town, Mona. It's not safe here anymore. Our beautiful town that the both of us grew up in for the past sixteen years isn't safe anymore and what I witnessed was absolutely terrifying." Clover says. "We witnessed the same thing and now we have to flee to another city that isn't as dangerous, and life threatening like this one." I say as I get to my feet and the both of us flee to the car that Clover is going to drive all the way to New York City. What we just witnessed is going to change our lives forever and we won't forget it.
