Picture of Gavin to the side>>>>>>>

My eyes fluttered open like they always did at six in the morning. My brain was just hardwired to wake up early. Groaning I flung my feet off the side of the bed to find my sleeping bag on the floor where I had thrown it last night. Even with the fan, my cabin had been very hot.

Cracking my neck, I rose up from the bed and immediately walked over to my duffle bag and started searching for a swim suit. After I slipped on my strapless bikini, I pulled a sports bra and running shorts over. Grabbing my IPod and headphones, I made my way to the door. Just before leaving the cabin I threw my hair up into a bun letting whatever loose hair fall into my eyes.

I pulled open the cabin door quietly and then quickly closed it behind me. The sun was just rising over the lake; the beautiful teal water was calm. Everything looked so serene, just like in a movie.

Tucking my IPod into my bra, I cranked up the volume and took off towards the trails Julie had told me about. I always ran, every morning. If I didn’t then I wouldn’t sleep right. Finally, I made it to the start of a trail that lead into the forest. The trees made good shade and I easily maneuvered my way through the dirt trial, always spotting the roots and holes.

Back at home I would always go running in the woods by my house with Nathan. He would meet me by the entrance to the forest every morning and we would run for an hour or so. I liked how I could just run away from and issues clouding my head, or the way I felt afterwards as the endorphins rushed through my body.

After running for a little while the trail seemed to curve around and back towards the lake. I happened to stumble upon the ropes courses that was built high above in the trees. Soon enough I was back at the entrance of the forest, looking at the lake. No one seemed to be up, so I ran over to the pier and took off my running shorts and sports bra. I checked the time on my IPod, making sure I would have time to swim.

The water seemed welcoming, so I dove straight in knowing the cool feeling would make my sore muscles feel better. It hit me like a refreshing wave and spread throughout my body as I went all the way under. Good thing the water is deep, I thought to myself as I resurfacing.

“I give it a seven,” someone said from behind me.

Treading water, I managed to turn myself around. The boy in front of me wore nothing but a blue suit, showing that he was in good shape. He didn’t look like an Abercrombie and Fitch model, but he still looked decent. Behind his ruffled brown hair was a pair of gorgeous brown eyes.

“I’m Gavin,” he stated, sitting down at the end of the dock and placing his feet in the water.

I gave him a warm smile. “Why are you up so early?” I asked. Most guys I knew, not including Nathan, always slept in.

He lowered himself into the water and disappeared. In a matter of seconds he resurfaced, his brown hair covering his eyes. “I guess I should ask you the same question.”

“Well, if you must know it was because I went for a run. But, I should probably get ready for my first day of work,” I said, swimming towards the dock and raising myself out of the water. I could feel his eyes on my back as I retrieved my things from the old wooden pier and started towards my cabin.

Other boys had started to emerge from their cabins, hair in a clumpy messes. Maybe I should have gotten up earlier, I thought just stepping off the dock.

“I didn’t catch your name,” Gavin called to me.

Turning around, I said, “I don’t give my name out to strangers.”

He laughed. “But we’re not strangers. See you know that my name is Gavin and that I get up early and that I like to swim, obviously. And I know that you like to get up early and run, which might I add is definitely paying off.”

With my cheeks blazing at his comment, I sighed in defeat. “Mia Fray.”

“Well Fray, it was a pleasure meeting you.”

Rolling my eyes I turned back around and headed towards the cabin, soaking wet and freezing. I couldn’t help notice the other camp members staring at me wide eyed as if it were the first time that had ever seen a girl. I guess that’s what an all-boys camp will do to you.

I was almost to my cabin steps when I heard a familiar voice. “You’re giving the boys quite a show.”

Turning to the side, I met Owen’s gaze. He was standing on the porch of his cabin.“Ah, yeah I think I’ll get up earlier tomorrow.” There was an awkward silence before I turned back around and opened my cabin door.

“Well, just get dressed and meet me out here when you’re done,” he called as I disappeared through the doorway.

Once inside, I took off my suit and slipped on a clean pair of panties. Grabbing my favorite sports bra, I pulled it over my shoulders just before throwing on a crop top. Quickly, realizing my window was open I peeked out to make sure no one was peeping. Sighing in relief, I put on a pair of jean shorts and shot out the door, ready to get to my first day in the kitchen.

Owen was patiently waiting at the bottom of the stairs; two guys standing around him. I was able to pick up some of their conversation.

“Come on we had French toast like two days ago, make something new!” one of the guys begged.

I cleared my throat and all three males turned around. I couldn’t help but notice the guy I had seen yesterday on the soccer field. His mouth instantly formed a smile.

“Mia this is Landon and Mark,” Owen said, motioning over to the guys.

Mark’s head was covered in blonde ruffled hair, his blue eyes stared back at me as I smiled. Although he was cute, Landon’s gorgeous face held my attention. I peeked at him from the corner of my eye; he was still looking at me.

“Landon can fix your curtain later tonight. But right now we should get going.”

Owen’s words pulled me out of my little daze and I turned to face him. “Nice to meet you,” I called back to the two boys as I followed the sexy cook up to the kitchen.

“You too,” they said in unison.

I could feel their gazes burning into my back while retreating. I almost wanted to turn around and catch them looking, but decided against it. Soon enough, we were entering the air conditioned cafeteria. I let out a sigh of relief and followed Owen to the kitchen area.

“Well, this is the kitchen. It’s not too big. Not many boys attend this camp. There are labels on all the drawers and whatnot, so you’ll know where to find things, but we don’t do much cooking. Mostly everything is frozen. For breakfast we usually cook from scratch though.”

Everything sounded about right. The kitchen here probably wasn’t much different than the one at my school. Frozen food, that sort of stuff.

“Okay, lets get started,” I said clapping my hands together.

Owen laughed at my enthusiasm. “Today we are serving waffles, fruit salad and chocolate milk. The cooler we usually keep the drinks in isn’t stocked yet so you can fill it up with cartons from the big fridge while I get everything else ready. Usually breakfast isn’t that hard and I can mostly handle them on my own, but it will be nice if you could help a little.”

I nodded my head and followed his gaze over to where the stainless steel massive fridge was. There was a small cart next to it that I could load the cartons of milk onto.  Sighing, I made my way over to the fridge and loaded as much milk on the cart as possible. Once it was full, I pulled it through the swinging door and out to the cooler that was next to the lunch line.

I grabbed the handle and pulled the cooler open, grabbed a carton of milk and placed it in. Repeating this action about a million more times until the cart was empty, I went back into the kitchen to grab more.

“Yum, smells good,” I said to Owen as he went around the kitchen getting everything together.

“Oh yeah, nothing like the aroma of homemade waffles,” he commented, flinging a little bit of batter towards me.

The mushy substance splattered across my face and I let out a little shriek. “Hey, not cool!” I scolded him rubbing the food off my face.

Suddenly the cafeteria door swung open and boys started flowing in, all rowdy for being up so early.

“Better load some more milk Mia, don’t want them going thirsty!” Owen warned me.

Rolling my eyes I went back to the fridge and loaded another cart. Once full, just like last time I pulled the cart out and towards the cooler. A line started to form before the buffet area as I stopped next to the cooler. Ignoring the stares I was receiving, I placed some more cartons of milk in until it was almost overflowing.

“Hey sunshine, enjoying your first day working?” asked a familiar voice.

I turned around to see Gavin leaning against the almost empty cart, a devilish grin on his face that only grew wider once we were facing each other. “Actually, it’s not that bad,” I said truthfully, hoping that everything else would be as easy as this.

He laughed. “I can see you’ve been working hard.” His hand reached up to my face, and before I knew it his fingers brushed against my cheek and the corner of my mouth. “Got it,” he stated holding up his finger that was now covered in waffle batter.

Blood pooled to my cheeks as he gave me a sexy wink. “Thanks,” I mumbled lamely before turning back around and placing more milk in the cooler.

“A woman who looks good in uniform,” he said walking around to the other side of the cooler. “I like.”
Laughing I looked down at myself. “Oh yeah, I totally make aprons look sexy.”

He was about to reply when an unfamiliar voice echoed through the cafeteria. “Aw, come on little guy let the girl work.”

Spinning around, I was surprised to see Landon waiting in line with a few friends who were curiously looking our way. A smile played at the corner of his mouth as I raised an eyebrow.
“Oh no, you can turn back around. I liked watching you do your thing,” he said, earning a few chuckles from his friends.

My jaw dropped as I stared at him awestruck. Had he really just said that? Before I could spit something out, Owen’s smooth voice filled the air. “Well don’t get too comfortable watching, because you’ll be doing kitchen duty for the next week.”

I let out a little laugh as his friends playfully punched him in the arm. “Burned by the cook, nice Landon,” one of them said.

“Oh and don’t worry, I’ll make sure to leave all the dirty work to you,” I cooed with a seductive smile.

Without another glance back, I turned around to face Gavin. “Is he always such a jerk?” I asked placing the last carton down.

“Hey, eyes off!” he called over my shoulder before directing his attention back to me. “Ah, yeah he’s sort of a dick. But don’t let him get to you.”

Giving him a warm smile I grabbed the cart and pulled it back to the kitchen door. “Oh don’t worry, I won’t!”

I hope you enjoyed this one, please vote and comment and what not, it would make me really happy: D
