You unlocked the door and nearly stumbled into your apartment. You've just had a very busy and stressful day at work. You're exhausted. As soon as you enter the house, you can hear the TV going in the living room. You peaked around the corner and expected to see your boyfriend stretched out on the couch, watching some show, but there's no sign of him anywhere. You frown in confusion.
"Eunhyuk?" you call out weakly.
He enters the living room from the kitchen, holding something underneath a dish rag. When he sees you he grins.
"Hey babe." He says.
"Hi." You wave and then crane your neck as you look at the dish rag. "What are you doing?"
He moves the towel and holds up a plate. "I'm putting away the dishes."
You cock your eyebrow. "What for?"
"So you don't have to do it." He says casually disappearing back into the kitchen. You cross your arms and follow him slowly. This isn't really normal for Eunhyuk. Of course he helps around the house, since the two of you live together, but when you come home he's always watching TV. But the house is reasonably tidy when you walk through the door, so you don't complain. You lean against the door pane and chuckle to yourself as you watch him put away the last of the plates and cups.
"How was work?" He asks, chucking the dish rag on the counter before coming over to kiss you.
"Exhausting." You say once he pulls away.
He looks at you sympathetically. "You need to sit sown, jagiya."
He places his hand on the small of your back and leads you to the sofa. Once you're seated he switches off the television, because he knows you don't care for it much. He then sits down next to you and you cuddle up close to him, closing your eyes as you feel his strong arms wrap around you. You always feel safe and at home when you're in his arms.
"Tell me what happened today." He says gently, sweetly kissing the side of your forehead.
You sigh. "People are hardly patient these days. They expect something that'd take like, 10 minutes to cook in 5 minutes. I bet you in a few years they'll start complaining if they don't get their food within 2 minutes."
"Why don't you quit and get a job with less pressure?"
You look up at him. "Oppa, we're not exactly the richest people in the world. We're only just managing to scrape through the bills. If I get a job that's any easier than my current job is supposed to be we'll be kicked out in no time."
He sighs. "I know. I'm sorry, y/n. I wish I could provide us with a better lifestyle."
You instantly feel guilty. You take his hand and kiss the back of it before resting your face in his palm.
"Aww, babe. I didn't mean to put it that way. I'm just whining. Work can make you do that. I'm happy, really."
It wasn't a lie. You are very happy living with Eunhyuk, even though your lifestyle is pretty simple and your friends are in better situations than you. But you know your friends are always having trust issues and shit with their boyfriends and you're more than happy that you and Eunhyuk don't have that. You do fight, but you trust each other with your lives. A wave of relief washes over you as Eunhyuk smiles and pulls you closer to him. You don't hesitate, but then you remember that you just came home all sweaty and oily from work.
