Kindergarten (1 month after they meet)
"Hey, Peter, want to see something cool?" I asked. He nodded. I got on my knees, and held my hand out, palm up. I closed my eyes and felt a tingling in my hand. I opened my eyes and saw a black mist surround my fingers.
Peter's eyes enlarged at the mist that now drifted towards the celing.
"Whoa! How are you doing that?" Peter exclaimed.
"I don't know. I've always been able to do it. My parents have always told me to hide it, but I feel like I can trust you," Camryn smiled as she watched the mist climb higher and higher. The mist split into two and twisted together, almost like it was trying to tell us something.
        "What's it doing?" Peter asked.
"I'm not sure." The two bits split apart and one went to Peter, the other went back to my extended palm. Slowly, it transformed into a small keychain. I looked at Peter and he looked at me.
The keychain was a small, black circle on a small chain. Mine said Peter, Peter's said Camryn.
"Peter? Are you doing okay?" a voice asked.
"Yeah!" Peter called back. He looked back at me, and we giggled silently. I placed the keychain in my pocket and headed out his door.
        "Bye, Peter! See you tomorrow!"
        4th Grade
"Peter, I'm moving," I whispered. His face went from smiling to frowning.
"What?" Peter questioned. A silent tear fell down his face.
"My parents got a promotion, so we have to move to Arizona. I begged my parents to let us stay here, but they said that we had to go. I'm so sorry, Pete," I explained. I began to cry as well. I felt someone wipe my tears away. Peter picked up the keychain charm, that I had put on necklace, and showed me.
"I'll always be with you, like you will be with me." Peter pulled his keychain out and showed me. I sighed a little and gave him a tight hug. He was surprised at first, then hugged back. I buried my head in his shoulder.
"Camryn. We have to go," my mom said. I broke out of the hug and turned to leave.
          "Hey, Cam!" Peter shouted.
          "Yeah?" I inquired, turning.
"See you later. Don't forget me."
"Who could forget you?" I stepped into my car and my dad started it. We began to drive off, and I waved through the window. Peter waved back, and began chasing after the car. I began to cry again once I couldn't see him anymore.
"You okay?" my mom asked. I wiped my tears away quickly.
"Yep! Perfectly fine," I whispered. I leaned my head against the window and watched the traffic go by. I began to create a little magic with my hands to calm me down.
Time seemed to fly as we zoomed down the highway. I had begun to start a letter that I would send to Peter once we arrived at our new house.
Dear Peter, it read, I hope you are doing well. I have arrived at my new house in Arizona. Dad says that we're going to see the Grand Canyon next week. I already miss you and I hope I can come visit soon. From, your dearest friend, Camryn. I read the note over and over to see if there was anything I was missing. Satisfied, I placed the letter in an envelope and licked it shut.
"Hey Dad, where are we?" I asked.
"Almost to our hotel for the night. We will be at our new house by this same time tomorrow," he said. "Why don't you go to sleep for a bit?" I nodded and leaned against the window once again.
"See you soon, Pete," I muttered, clutching the keychain necklace in my hands as I slowly drifted off to sleep.
       Summer before Sophmore Year
"Mom, I want to move back to Queens," I said. She looked at me.
       "Why?" she asked.
"Because I don't like it here. I haven't had a friend since 3rd grade, and I did in Queens. So, I want to go back," I explained. I crossed my fingers behind my back. My mom put down her book and stood up. I instantly felt nervous. Did I say the wrong thing?
"Camryn, your father and I have been meaning to tell you something," she began. "Look around." I did and saw boxes, piled as high as me.
         "What about them?"
         "We are."
         "We are what?" I asked.
"We are moving back to Queens!" my mom exclaimed.
"What?! We are! Oh, my gosh! Oh, my goodness! Thank you!" I gave her a huge hug. "Thank you, thank you, thank you! I love you so much! I'll go pack right now!" I dashed up the stars and began throwing my things in boxes. My heart was pounding and wouldn't stop. I was so excited, that I opened my window, and yelled out into the bright blue sky.
I used my magic to take the boxes from my room to the living room. I lifted myself in the air and down the stairs, laughing and cheering.
