Natasha laid her head back down slowly. She felt the urge to go to the restroom but was pinned down with a strong arm laying across her back. She couldn't bare the thought of waking him. He was a light sleeper and it didn't take much to rise him from his slumber.
She looked over at how peaceful he looked when he was sleeping. These were the moments she would reflect on the past. At how life was for them before they were married. Life with this man who has shaken up her entire world.
She would reflect on how he used to love her. How gentle he was with her in the early stages of their relationship. The man she fell in love with.
She had met Alex in college. As they had been neighbors in the same Co-ed dormatory.
They had run into each other during pre registration and he had sparked a conversation with her about classes they were taking and what career paths they were pursuing.
They met up again heading to the same dormatory. Once they realized that they were neighbors, he began pursuing her and would randomly show up to her dorm room finding every excuse to spend time with her. He was so flattering. She reveled in it.
Not to mention how incredibly handsome he is. He stands about 6'2 and is athletically built. He can make anything he wears scream sex appeal. And he had eyes for her.
He used to be full of passion. Full of exuberant life. He ignited a fire inside of her back then. Enticing her with adventure. She never thought she would love anyone the way she loved him. He had become her everything.
They had an incredible relationship all through college. They did everything together and planned a whole life together.
Straight out of university Alex put his new law degree to use and soon made partner at a local law firm due to connects from his father no doubt.
Natasha soon started working as a journalist for the local paper. Most of which she did from home.
But life was not sweet forever. Things started changing between them. Something was always coming up that and they would have to prolong their engagement. He constantly told her they didn't need a piece of paper to confirm their life together. He still called her his wife and she grew accustomed to calling him her husband.
He began to withdraw himself and became guarded. He started drinking and staying out late after work. She thought she was doing something wrong and it became a constant fight between them as to why he was distancing himself.
He would argue that she was just paranoid and needed to calm down. That he wasn't doing the things she felt he was.
She would never forget the first time he hit her.
He came home piss drunk after pulling an all nighter. It was about 7:30am on a Wednesday morning. He came stumbling in after his booze binging and plopped himself on top of her. She awoke from the pressure of him on top of her fondling and trying to pull off her night clothes.
He reeked of alcohol and was being extremely forceful. Which startled Natasha and she began to try and wiggle her way out from under him. But he was overpowering her petite body. He was quite bigger then her and could effortlessly overtake her.
He began getting angry with her for fighting him and screamed at her to stop. She froze beneath him as he angrily glared at her.
"Don't ever fight me like that! You are mine and I will have you any time I damn well please!! Do you understand me?"
She couldn't speak. This wasn't him. The wasn't the man she loved. This was a demon taking over him. Tears began escaping her eyes as realization set in on what he was doing.
