(Hopefully it's half decent!)

I remember when we spent the entire summer in your mums kitchen.

I was too shy to even let my voice escape

I remember the tingling in my ears as your song left your mouth.

But summer was almost over

And I remember how hard it hit

I remembered the one thing I wished to forget

You were leaving

You were my closest friend.
You were the one I loved.

And that night

My hands lingered on every photo of us

My hands caused rips to pull us apart
And my tears stained the images

I remember when you promised
To keep all of my secrets

We both let the wind carry our words away

I always knew that you would leave

Our small town wasn't big enough for someone so bright.

But I owe you so much, you taught me to love myself, even when I felt like it was impossible.

I always knew you would break my heart eventually and I always planned on letting you.

I was simply a tower of blocks waiting to be knocked down.

I remember watching you pack your bags eagerly

Words gushed out of your mouth and I realised something

I had never seen you so happy.

The happiest I had ever seen you was when we shared our dreams with each other.
"I'm going to get out of this town, and your going to come with me" you said grinning widely.

I wanted to beg you to stay
I wanted to sob
But I wouldn't dare
I owe you so much.

And as your train departed
You took my breath and my heart away.

Maybe you'll return them?

Maybe someday.
